Chapter 4: What was that?!

Claire

"Sorry Luigi, I need to put your leash on you. You might get lost among the crowd." He only continued whining and squirming in my grip as I try to put the leash on him. Usually when we go on walks at the park, I don't keep him on a leash, since he knows how to keep up.

"Buddy, the port is a big place for a doggo like you. I promise you once we get on board: I'll release you, and we will go on walks there." I said in assurance, while giving him a rub on his head. In reality, I don't really know where I can walk him, I mean it is a big ship and he might suddenly jump into the waters.

"Let's go buddy." I opened the door, and turned around to took a one good last look around my apartment. We finally left the building. As I prepare myself on a good cruise.

Hades

"Hadesssss, when do we arrive there?" Apollo whined at me. I only ignored him and continued reading the book that is currently on my hands. The pages were dancing underneath my fingers as I flipped every page of the book.

"Why can't we just take my carriage? it is way more faster than Zeus' car." He continued complaining, while I continued in ignoring his complaints about how this car is so slow.

"Shush it Apollo, you don't get to ride my car and insult it." Zeus' voice was filled with annoyance.

"Anyway, we are almost there." Zeus had said, as he averted his gaze from Apollo, and diverted his attention back to the road. I gave off, a sigh--I closed the book that I was reading and settled it down on my lap. I stared at window, the scenery was beautiful, the sun was rising to the east illuminating all of the biological and non-biological material, the sound of the car's engine roared through my ears, but it wasn't unpleasant to hear. A comforting silence had engulfed the car. With the sound of the car's engine and the comforting silence surrounding the car, it made the atmosphere pleasant.

My thoughts had drifted back again at the plan: How are we going to find this girl? What if she isn't on the cruise ship? We can't just buy all of the tickets for a cruise? My thoughts were interrupted, when my phone rang. I looked at the screen to know who was calling me, and when I saw who it was my lips curved into a bright smile. It was Persephone. I answered the call and held it up to my ear.

"Hello my dove." I greeted her lovingly.

"Hello darling? I miss you already." She whined through the phone. Although, I sensed there was something off about the tone of her voice.

It looks I am—

"You little s**t, you didn't tell me about you going on a cruise!!" I internally whimpered at the tone of her voice. Yep I am in-trouble.

"Apollo didn't tell you?" I asked, and turned my head to glare at, Apollo whom was trying to hide himself between the seats.

"Mother told me, If I knew you were going away I would have gone with you!" She complained angrily, I could imagine her rage inside my head. Her face would turn red if she was mad or angry.

"I am sorry love, I thought Apollo had told you." With my teeth gritted, I said Apollo's name. He only hid himself more in between the seats. Then I heard Persephone sigh over the phone.

"I am sorry my dove, when I come back I promise you I will make it up to you." I reassured her, but Persephone only huffed.

"Baby." I whined at her, as I tried to act cute so she can forgive me.

"Fine, go home safely. I love you!" She said.

"I love you too." I said like a child that was filled with excitement. She hung up the call as I stared at the phone longingly, hoping that I could talk to her more. I almost forgot; Apollo hasn't dodged the ball yet. I turned back to Apollo whom was nervously looking at me.

"You are so dea—" With my hands ready to strangle him. I threatened him, but my brother Zeus had stopped that from happening.

"Stop fighting, we have arrived at our destination." As soon as Apollo heard that we have come to our destination, he quickly took his seat-belt off and launched himself outside of the car, to avoid me.

"Come back here you little s**t!" I quickly went out of the car, so I can chase him and beat the living daylights out of him. However, my actions were stopped went I felt a strange sense of miasma all over the place. My vision roamed around my surroundings, my eyes trying to find the source of the strange sensation.

"Did you feel that brothers?" I asked them, Apollo had also stopped running, when he had felt it.

"It would seem like, that our girl is here." Apollo had stated as he walked towards the trunk of the car to get our belongings.

"No s**t Sherlock." Zeus had stated with sarcasm. Zeus grabbed his luggage, his eyes continued to roam around the port, to find the source of the strange power that we had felt. We walked around the port, the surroundings were filled with many vendors selling souvenirs, and relatives saying farewell to those who will travel.

"Apollo, where does this cruise ship go to?" I ask Apollo.

"To Europe, we got relatives there you know? Artemis said she would be waiting for us there." He said. It has been a long time since I saw Apollo's twin sister.

"How long will it take?"

"About 10-11 days?" Apollo stated happily as he walked towards a vendor that was selling some souvenirs.

"I have a question, why didn't we use our powers to get our way in the cruise, and just find the girl." Poseidon had asked.

"We can't use our powers among the human beings and the supernaturals to get what we want, it would be unfair.. The humans and the supernaturals are following the law in order to maintain peace. Using our divinity would just be abusing our powers. Besides with Apollo buying us cruise tickets makes it feel like a real vacation and don't you want to know the way of the human life?" I answered him truthfully, and asked him.

"You're right brother, let's enjoy our vacation, but of course we must not forget out mission." He chuckled as he put both of his arms on my shoulder and Poseidon's shoulder. While Apollo is following us closely from behind.

Suddenly an adorable ball of fur came running towards me, he was trying to climb up my right leg as if he wants me to carry him. When I was about to pet him. The owner came rushing towards me, it was obvious that embarrassment was plastered on her face.

"Luigi no, I am so sorry about my dog he doesn't behave well." She carried her dog into her arms to prevent it from escaping again. With her eyes were focused on her dog, she does not seem to notice me.

"It's okay. I, myself too is dealing with three nasty dogs back at my home. So this is really nothing." I said, as I remembered the three-headed dog, whose name is Cerberus. Whom is currently residing at the underworld.

"Oh? what are their na-" her words were cut off when she stopped focusing at her dog, and her eyes had met mine. She looked shocked and alarm, rather than stunned. I know that we are Gods and our visuals are different than the humans, but she doesn't have to overreact. She lowered her head to prevent eye contact with me again.

"Is there something wrong?" With my voice laced with concern, I had asked her. I touched her shoulder gently to see what was wrong. My eyes had widened with shock when I felt a strange energy that was radiating from her. I was about to talk to her, but she quickly picked up her luggage and scurried off at an another direction.

"Hades, what is wrong?" Apollo asked me, while he stared at the girl that was running away from us.

"It is her, that's the girl. That's weird, when she came close to me I hadn't felt the same energy, that we felt when we arrived here at port, but when I touched her, that was when I recognized it." I explained, they all looked at each other puzzled.

"When she saw me she looked scared?" Zeus only nod his head, signaling us that we have to act fast.

Claire

I was stumbling my way through the crowd, while I was carrying my luggage. I was trying to fing my dog among the noisy crowd. Somehow, he managed to release himself out of the clutches of his leash, and now he is probably somewhere else and is asking for someone to pet him. That dog is too friendly. I heard a bark nearby, I recognized that bark, it was from Luigi. I followed where that bark came from, as I continued to trace where the sound of the bark came from. My pace was slowly coming to a halt and my actions had become leery of my surroundings, because I felt a sense of divinity or a celestial energy was radiating from where the sound of the bark came from. I continued in following the path until I finally saw Luigi, and I was right. He was asking a man to pet him. With my face that is flushed with embarrassment I came rushing towards them.

"Luigi no, I am so sorry about my dog he doesn't behave well." I apologized about the behavior of my dog.

""It's okay. I, myself too is dealing with three nasty dogs back at my home. So this is really nothing." The man had said, while I was still focusing at my dog, I was giving Luigi a deadly glare.

"Oh? what are their na-" My words were cut off, when I made eye contact with the man. When I looked into his eyes, that is where the powerful energy was coming from, his eyes held power that was much stronger than the werewolf king. His energy was different from any normal supernatural being: his aura gave off the power of a celestial being, no wait much more different than a celestial being. I stared at him with a shocked face.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked me, he touched to my shoulder trying to investigate in what was happening to me, but when he touched me his eyes had widened, and it shock was drawn over his eyes. He was about to say something, but I quickly picked up my luggage and scurried off.
