“I need to talk to you” Dane said to Marcus with a serious expression that made me unsettled also considering the fact that he was avoiding looking at me like I was a plague.
“What is it?” Marcus asks, both his hand crossed on the chest. Dane’s eyes drifted to the door to Marcus’s study and then my face before he sighed.
“ The king…he is finally making a move” Dane said, running his hands through his hair frustrated.
“I think…Vera already knows as well”
“ I do” I said, he looked at me and then he turned away again.
“You were supposed to protect her from it, make sure she never has to find out till the king is out of our lives” Dane said, his guilty expression slowly turning to one of anger.
