Xenus had parted ways with Ella and me, going back to the palace while we made our way back to his estate. The flight had tired me out and after dinner, I retired to bed to rest.
I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like death. It was as though my body hated me, my limbs aching so horribly that it hurt to stay still, much less move, and that was just the beginning. The fever hit quickly after, then nausea and the headache and despite trying to pull through it I finally called for Ella.
