His Arrival Westd As the final show of Ryven's Rose's tour approached, the anticipation and tension heightened for West and his team. Kira's health concerns, coupled with the unsettling presence of a deranged stalker, had prompted her managers to seek the assistance of West's family-owned security firm. Headed to Houston for the grand finale on the 4th of July, which also marked Kira's eighteenth birthday, West saw this as the perfect opportunity to claim her as his mate and unveil the truth about his family's hidden nature. The plane finally touched down in the scorching heat of Houston, leaving West bewildered about how anyone could endure such temperatures. As they exited the plane and reached the private lobby area, West was greeted with a squeal and Jazlyn wrapping her arms around his neck. "West, I've missed you so much," she sobbed, expressing the longing for her brother's presence. "You big asshat, why didn't you ever come visit or were never around when we would visit?" Jazlyn questioned, playfully smacking his arm. West responded with a tight hug, dropping her back to the ground. "I missed you too, Jazzy Bear," he chuckled at her familiar, goofy smile. "Sorry, Jazzy Bear, but the business has grown, and we've picked up some really huge contracts. I had to meet with new clients and get their systems set up," West explained with a pouty face, seeking forgiveness. "Please, forgive me?" he added, trying to soften Jazlyn's expression. "Fine," she pouted. "But don't ever do that again," she warned, voicing her need for her big brother. West felt a wave of guilt, realizing he hadn't fully grasped her sentiments. "I'm sorry. I promise I'll be around a lot more," he assured, stroking her hair. Jazlyn then shifted the conversation to another matter, teasing him about confessing to Kira about being her mate and madly in love with her. "Jaz!" West scowled, attempting to divert the topic. "Don't worry, we haven't said anything to her," she assured with a slight frown, leaving West relieved that the revelation was still pending. The mix of family dynamics, sibling banter, and the impending meeting with Kira created a dynamic atmosphere as they prepared for the significant events ahead. The scorching Texas heat greeted West and his team as they disembarked the plane. Jazlyn's teasing banter and Moses' dramatic reaction to the temperature filled the air with a mix of humor and camaraderie. Yet, amidst the banter, West's attention was solely on the search for Kira, the source of his obsession. "Wholly shitballs, that sweet voice, her sweet scent of roses and strawberries, where is she? I need to see her," West thought, scanning the surroundings until his eyes met her beautiful grey gaze. A smile adorned her face, and the connection between them sparked. "I'm not a wuss! But c'mon, one hundred degrees? s**t, how do you deal with it?" Moses groaned. Kira chuckled at his discomfort, her laughter echoing like music to West's ears. Her suggestion of a Texas-born solution only intensified West's desire for her. As Kira spoke, West couldn't help but let his thoughts wander, imagining the intimate things he could share with her. The intense longing reflected in his gaze didn't escape Kira's notice. Caught in the act, they both turned away, her cheeks tinted with a charming blush. West couldn't help but find her adorable in those moments. "Hey there, baby girl," West greeted, walking over to her. Kira blushed even more intensely, adding to her charm. As he extended his hand, their proximity intensified, and West couldn't resist pulling her into a tight hug. The sparks that shot through his body were unmistakable, and he was sure she felt them too. Inhaling her scent deeply, he whispered, "I missed you so much" into her ear. Their tender moment was abruptly interrupted by a tap on West's shoulder. A flight attendant, attempting to be seductive, informed him that the pilot wanted to speak with him. The awkward encounter didn't go unnoticed by Kira, who looked both confused and saddened. "Ehem," West's little sister chimed in, breaking the tension. "Are we going to stand here and watch this... situation? Or are we getting out of here? The bags and luggage have been loaded in the cars." Kira, protective of her mate, made her way to the door, expressing her discomfort. "I'll wait in the car," Kira whispered, leaving West with a heavy heart as she walked away. The turn of events wasn't how he envisioned their courtship, and the sadness in Kira's eyes weighed on him. As the team headed towards the cars, West couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to make things right with his mate. The intrusive flight attendant continued her advances, running her hands along West's arm, provoking his frustration. "Dammit! Keep your filthy hands off me!" he growled, drawing the attention of the concerned pilot rushing out to address the situation. "Mr. Jake, is there a problem?" the pilot inquired. West scowled at the overzealous attendant. "Yes, it seems that your flight attendant doesn't know how to keep her hands to herself. She upset my mate, which is unacceptable, and I do not appreciate it." The audacious female retorted, dismissing Kira as a mere human. "Oh please, she's just a stupid human! She can't give you what you need, but I can. I understand what you need and how to give it to you," she asserted, continuing her invasive gestures. West's patience reached its limit as he grabbed her arms and pushed her away. "That's it!" he boomed, commanding both the pilot and the flight attendant to submit. "You are not my mate; she is the only one who knows what I need." With a stern warning, West walked away, leaving the two individuals with a clear message. As he joined his team and siblings by the waiting vehicles, he noticed Moses admiring a vibrant purple and pink Challenger Hellcat – a revelation that Kira had a penchant for speed. Despite the playful banter, West couldn't ignore the lingering sadness in Kira's eyes as she conversed with Jaz. Jaz, supportive as ever, had her arm around Kira's shoulders, offering comfort. "We should get going; I'm sure y'all are hungry," Kira suggested, avoiding eye contact with West. "I have a table set up at a local barbecue joint. I can take three, and the rest can split up in the SUVs over there. There's a driver for each one, for now, at least until you get to my house. Faye and Jasper are meeting us at the restaurant." As they divided into vehicles, Axel and Jazlyn in SUVs, and West, Moses, and Shadow with Kira, the dynamics played out humorously in the compact car. West couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of two towering men squeezing into the backseat. Kira took advantage of the situation, flooring her Hellcat with a grin. West admired her enjoyment of the car's power, and he seized a moment to subtly brush his fingers against her hand. The electric charge between them was undeniable, resonating with a mutual desire. West couldn't resist intertwining his fingers with hers, savoring a fleeting connection that affirmed she was truly his. However, she withdrew her hand, leaving a sense of coldness that echoed through West. The weight of Max' whimper and Kira's lingering upset emotions hung heavy on him. With the truth about his identity and that of his siblings looming, West knew convincing Kira to accept their supernatural reality wouldn't be an easy task.
