Claire Lynch shook her head, a bitter smile twisting her pale lips.
"The Dragonbone Pill is the foundation of the Lynch Family," she whispered, her voice hollow. "It is a miracle cure for rheumatism and bone diseases. It was solely because of this medicine that the Lynch Family rose to become the number one power in Northriver."
She looked out the hospital window at the gray sky. "Now that it's gone... it's like a great tree having its roots pulled out. The trunk might still be there, the branches might still have leaves, but without the root, it cannot survive. It will wither and die."
