My blood was thrumming as I hovered in front of the clinic. Everytime i pictured Elena’s small face, lifeless and cold as she laid on the bed, my heart lurched in my chest. She has to survive. My teeth ached from where I had been grinding down on them, fingers digging into my palms as I banged my fist against my temples. I can’t lose her too.
