|Damien's POV|
—
She reported to my office by exactly 7 am the next day, not a minute late, not a minute early.
I acted unimpressed.
“Good morning, Mr Damien.”
“You're here at exactly 7 am cause I said so?
You've never heard about arriving minutes before the designated time?”
She smiled.
“If you wanted me to arrive minutes earlier, I'm pretty you would have stated so.”
*Scoff
Seriously? I see she's fearless, huh?
“I'm sure my secretary has enlightened you about the job you're here to do already.
As you can see I'm in a wheelchair and can't really do things on my own.”
“Yes, Mr Damien.”
I paused.
“Alright,” I managed to get over myself.
“Your job starts immediately, select the names of only the best for my blind dates as I need to get a bride as soon as possible.”
“Already here sir.” She said handing me a list of the names.
“How did you..?”
“Well, since I was informed yesterday that I had gotten the Job, I had already started working on your schedules for the week.”
I smirked.
“Okay.. so what's my schedule for today?”
“Meeting with the board by 9 am…, addressing the interns…”
she went on and on and I couldn't help but be in awe of this lady that stood In Front of me.
She was nothing like the past employees, she was up to date, coordinated and fearless.
To my surprise she has carefully arranged my schedule in the way I liked.
“And finally, the blind date at the snail's pride palace.”
I nodded.
I was impressed I must confess but I couldn't afford to let it show.
“Here's your coffee, Sir” she said with a broad genuine smile.
She handed me a cup of coffee just the way I liked it brewed.
“How do..”
“I had the secretary tell me all your likes and dislikes, cause I really need to keep this job sir.”
“You'd need more than just knowing my likes and dislikes to keep this job.” I said to her.
She nodded.
“I'd do only my best.”
Just then, my door flung open.
“Babe!” Isabella screeched running towards me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked furiously.
“Oh babe, I know you're really mad at me and I totally apologize..”
Lara had been standing there completely blown away.
“Excuse me sir.” She said curtly while leaving.
“And who's she?”
“None of your business.” I retorted.
“Oh, come-on Damien, don't be like this, I was out of town all these months and I'm just getting back.
It’s not like I intentionally ignored you, I was busy with my deals.”
Isabella was a highly sorted after model and she often threw that in the face of all the girls that ever tried to get close to me.
“So, who's she? Doesn't look like a business associate to me, so she's definitely a staff here.
But her face doesn't look familiar and her being here personally in your office….”
She gasped.
“Is she your new assistant?”
I rolled my eyes.
Isabella chuckled.
“Hopefully, this one would last right? She… doesn't seem like she has the capability to, though.”
“What do you want, Isabella?”
“You..” she said curtly coming around me. “I've missed you so much and I know you missed me too.”
She took a look down my legs.
“It's unfortunate you're still in this position, but there's a sign for getting better right?”
“I don't know what you're doing here, Isabella but you and I? We're done and totally done, okay?”
“That's never happening Damien.”

|Lara's POV|
My billionaire boss had been on my last nerve since morning and I was being a cool girl by totally ignoring his tantrums.
Gosh.
How I wanted to jump at him and totally rant back at him, but hey, we had to stay focused to get back what we want, right?
I sat in the comfort of my sit in my desk, a transparent wall separating our offices.
Damien's fiancé was all over him as usual, just like in the TV's when they attended the business gathering together.
She loved to flaunt her man, a man all girls were head over heels inlove with, not me though.
To me, he was just the son of the man who took everything from my family.
I was just setting my things up my desk as I had no chance to do that since I reported to Damien.
A soft knock interrupted my thoughts.
“Come in.” I said.
The door opened revealing a slender looking lady, Damien's secretary, Stacy.
“Hello, Lara, hope I'm not interrupting anything?”
“No, Stacy, come-on in.”
She smiled mildly walking in closing the door behind her.
“Just wanted to welcome you formally to this space.”
“Thank you.” I chuckled.
“It's actually a pleasure to be here and also to have been having such a supportive colleague, thanks for your help yesterday.”
“That's fine,” she said, then leaning closer she said.
“ Not to scare you but no assistant last here with Mr Damien up to two weeks, and uhm, I must also warn about his fiancé, Isabella, she's a whole lot of trouble.
I really like your personality and I really hope you'll last here, so it's best you avoid her and work according to all Mr Damien's likes and dislikes, though it's not always certain.
I smirked.
“Stacy, I might look like a totally simple girl, but I'm not so easy to get rid of, I look forward to working with you for as long as I intend to.”
She smiled broadly then left.
The smile on my lips faded as she left, I could see through Isabella that she was not going to be easy to deal with but why did I have to worry about her when Damien didn't even consider her at all.
He was too busy looking for her replacement.
Speaking of the devil.
My door flung open and Isabella walked in like a boss looking around my space like a tourist.
A disgusted one at that.
I smirked.
“How may I be of help to you ma'am?”
I stood up feigning respect.
“And how do you intend to be of help to me?” She chuckled. “You should be worried about keeping your job, hunny.”
I smiled.
“You’re barely a day old here and you're already turning this place to your personal space.”
She moved around like a predator.
“ I hear you're Damien's new assistant.”
“Yes, the name's Lara Williams.” I said, extending my handshake.
She looked at me wide-eyed, surprised by my confidence, reluctantly she stretched forth her hands but I dropped mine.
“My boss needs me now, if you'd excuse me.”
I motioned for her to walk out.
“You have some nerves don't you? We'll see how long you last here.” She said cat walking out.
I chuckled.
Now I could see another reason why assistant hired here didn't last, and I wasn't going to be the next assistant Isabella bullied out.
