"I think they just warned us to stay off the case" he answered
The courthouse slowly emptied as lawyers and reporters filtered into the afternoon sunlight. Just then,
Roman's phone vibrated.
A notification from the court's electronic filing system.
He frowned.
"That was quick."
"What is it?" Vivian asked.
"Blackwood & Vale has already filed an amended litigation strategy."
Damien stopped walking.
"Already?"
Roman opened the document and silently scanned the first few pages.
The confidence faded from his face.
"This..."
He handed the phone to Damien.
"...doesn't sound like you."
Damien read the filing.
His jaw tightened.
"They've withdrawn several evidentiary arguments."
