"I have to go now, Claire. This meeting was moved up two hours earlier than scheduled." Julian spoke as he straightened the collar of his black dress shirt in front of the large living room mirror. His movements were quick, yet still precise. The man did not take time to sit and finish the black coffee Claire had just prepared for him on the dining table. His face looked tighter than usual, a sign there was urgent business that could not be delayed for even a moment. "Will you be home for lunch?" Claire asked as she stood in the kitchen doorway. Julian glanced back briefly, picking up his car keys from beside the flower vase. "It doesn't seem likely. Don't wait for me. Eat on your own and make sure you lock the door properly."
