In the evening of that same day, after my earlier encounter with Gideon in the morning, I was anxious about my date with Jonathan that night. He was supposed to pick me up by seven, then take me to the Krusty Crab downtown. It was disheartening to note that I wasn't looking forward to it as much as I had hoped and that I couldn't stop thinking about Gideon. Thankfully, I'd heard him head out to a party that afternoon before I had my nap, and wouldn't be back till tomorrow so he wouldn't be a distraction tonight. After all he told me, I figured that maybe my feelings for him would wane if I didn't focus on him so much, so I tried convincing myself that going out with Jonathan was a necessary step in that direction.
