Thunder cracked over the garden and the sky turned black in seconds.
I grabbed Julian’s arm. “That came from nowhere,” I said. “Kids are still out on the hill.”
“Move,” he answered. We ran through the paths as rain started hard. Voices called out all around.
Talia met us halfway. “The little ones are scared. Songs are not calming them.”
“Bring them to the circle,” Julian told her. “Liam, help gather everyone. Fast.”
I called out. “Kade, round up the left side. Mira, take the right. Meet in the middle.”
People moved quick. Kids cried soft. Rain soaked us all. “Talk to them,” I said to Talia. “Tell them it will pass.”
“The sky never does this on our islands,” she answered, holding two children close. “What is happening?”
Julian checked the sky. “Garden is reacting to something. Liam,
