A metal perimeter encompassed the land before them. The matt barbed wire and galvanised steel seemed to absorb the sunlight that streamed through the broken clouds above. It was a daunting boundary with chain-link wire creating a secondary barricade fixed tightly against the large steel fences that were curled in barbed wire, top to bottom, before wrapping like a concertina around the top. But Jesse was not looking at that barrier, it was the third protection which caused her pulse to race. An orb of iridescent magic shimmered, unseen to all eyes but her own.
