Day 6
The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room as I woke up. I stretched languidly, feeling refreshed and ready to start the day. I hopped out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, where I took a quick shower and got dressed. After that, I walked towards the refrigerator to grab a light breakfast when I found a sticky note on a box of kimbap. It read, 'Eat this, for you who's leaving at 9.'
"I saw it before, and I also think it's for you," Yuri explained. At the dining table, Yuri, Yohan, Kang-Min, Hae-il, and Bora were already seated.
"It seems like the guy who gave it to you isn't one of the three guys here," Bora added, pointing to the three men she mentioned. Hae-il wore a blank, innocent, and clueless expression.
"I think I know who gave it to you," Sera whispered as she passed by me to get food from the refrigerator as well. Ignoring their reactions, I simply picked up the gimbap, walked towards the dining table, and started eating it. Truthfully, both Bora and Sera's statements had made me nervous. I had no idea what to do.
"How do you feel?" Kang-Min asked when we crossed paths as I was about to go upstairs to get ready for work.
"The usual..." I replied.
"You look happier than before.." he continued.
"You mean, I'm happier because of that gimbap...
"One of the reasons...if you have time, I'd like to take you out for lunch...," he asked. I tried to remember my schedule for today, wondering if I could leave work for a bit to meet him for lunch. I nodded. I continued my steps towards my room on the 2nd floor and got ready to go to the office today. I chose to wear a red blouse and a matching midi skirt, a combination that I felt both professional and stylish. With my hair neatly tied up and my makeup done, I felt confident and ready to face the day.
Afternoon
From a distance, I saw someone waiting for me in front of the entrance of a restaurant. He saw me and smiled.
"Why don't you come in? Isn't it cold here?" I asked him.
"Not really, I haven't been standing here for long..." He opened the restaurant door for me and gestured for me to go in first. After we sat down, he gave me a hand warmer.
"You're not late," he said to me. I smiled and nodded.
"What kind of woman do you like?" I asked, waiting for our food to be served.
"I like women with beautiful eyes, cheerful and give off a warm vibe...
"I feel like there are different stages to liking someone..." He nodded as if he understood what I was thinking. "Someone you like because they caught your attention when you first met them, then as you get to know them better you'll choose someone who keeps your attention and you know they like you too, and finally, you'll choose someone who has the same vision as you and makes you feel comfortable... I feel like it takes me a long time to go through all those stages..." I replied with a smile.
"I think what you said is very accurate, it's natural for it to take a long time, I think it takes me a long time too..." The food was served along with his statement. "I have something for you...". He gave me a box of macarons, he said he found a pastry shop while walking to this restaurant.
"And this flower? I don't think you found it on the street either?" I said, he lowered his head a little embarrassed.
"I did give it to you...
"What kind of flower is this?
"Peony...do you know what it means?" he asked back. "Love at first sight," he said shyly. "That's what the salesperson said," he continued. I just laughed at his awkwardness, he became more stiff than before.
"I like it...
"The salesperson said that this peony of yours will help you find someone, your love...."
