Laura’s POV My eyes felt unbearably heavy as I pried them open. My head throbbed as though someone had struck me with a hammer. A dull ache pulsed behind my temples, making it hard to focus. I groaned softly and blinked at the ceiling above me. This wasn’t my ceiling. The sheets beneath me were too smooth, too crisp, and the bed was far too large to be mine. A wave of cold dread hit me as I realized I didn’t recognize the room at all.
