The pack had received the news with excitement. Liam had snatched me up in a hug so tight I thought he’d squeeze the air out of me, then went down on one knee and pressed his ear to my belly like he could already hear the movement inside. “Welcome to the pack, boy o,” he said, grinning like a proud uncle. I laughed. “How did you know it’s a boy?” “I know. You’ll see I was right.” He stood, his eyes bright. “I’m really happy, Diva.” I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt. It felt good to know this baby would grow up surrounded by people who would protect him. That thought made everything steadier. We celebrated exactly like Damien said we would — good wine, loud laughter, people toasting the baby and the pack’s future. We drank, cheered, and stayed up late enough that the night felt like it
