Angela POV
"Sir, there has been a situation."
"I found Cayden this morning passed out in his room."
"You've got to be f*****g kidding me, Angela."
"I know. I'm not sure what happened, but he's being evaluated by his mother at the healing center."
"Hmm."
"You're oddlyokay?"
"f**k no, I'm not okay, Angela. I'm doing my best to keep my wolf tempered. But wolfing out isn't going to help Cayden, is it?"
Taking a breath, I shake my head. Pacing has made me a little woozy, but I'm sure it's just the stress of everything going on lately. Not only that, but Maverick's reaction to Cayden leaves me curious. He must suspect something? But what?
Cayden's mother walks out from the back, interrupting my thoughts. Her blonde assistant trails close behind.
