'No you don't want me involved' Mona said following her into the room, 'No Mona, I don't want you there. Just leave it please, you're making it worse, worse for me, you are going to make him angry and Andrew is blaming me somehow this is my fault and now he'll probably hurt you. The guy is nuts Mona,' she sobbed, tears rolled down her face and she couldn't finish speaking. Her cousin rubbed her arm, but Maria shook it off and left the classroom, 'don't follow me' she said without turning back, she wanted to be alone. Even if that meant skipping class. Mona waited a few minutes then left for her own class as students started walking in the room, she didn't want any drama. She was getting so angry on behalf of Maria, she knew her cousin didn't know what to do, she knew she how stressed she was feeling.  After fixing her make up Maria sat out on the benches, she was going to spend the hour soaking up the sun. She tightened her belt, her jeans were getting loose, she had lost a few pounds. It wasn't too obvious, but if she lost anymore they would need to take in her clothes. She looked at herself in her handheld mirror, she was tired but looked pretty. You wouldn't be able to tell the stress she was under, not unless you knew her well and could see it in her brown eyes. Sitting outside she felt him, before she even heard him. She turned to face him, her sunglasses covered most of her face and she was grateful. Chase stood in front of her, not hiding as he looked her up and down, taking her in. Even now there was something about his gaze, too much like a hunter. She stood up, about to leave. 'I have class' she started, turning to leave but his arm blocked her, 'don't worry MariaI won't keep you long, I know how important it is for you to do well. Hell if you need any help, if there is every anything I can do for you, just ask' 'I don't need your help. I don't need anything from you' 'maybe not now,' he said, 'but soon enough you'll wake up wanting a real man. Someone that can protect you.' She shook her head not hiding her disgust, 'Andrew is a real man' 'he's a joke and we both know it. Did he blame you Maria? After I kissed you? Too afraid to confront me, so let me guess he told you how hurt he was. What kind of man would blame a women' 'you don't know anything about me and him' she raised her chin, baiting him. 'you heard those people cheering, when we kissed. We just make more sense, you're beautiful, clever, cheerleader, I'm handsome, clever, quarterback' he said, leaning in closer, she could feel his body heat radiating and she leant back into the wall as far as she could. 'I love him' she hated how weak she sounded when she said that 'is that why you look at me so much?' Maria nearly laughed in shock, 'oh you are crazy. I'm not the one looking, I've already found what I want' 'Oh', Chase stroked her slowly up her arm, it gave her goosebumps and he smiled, her skin was so soft, so smooth, like caramel. He touched her cheek gently and she looked away, he played with her hair, he could smell her conditioner, sweet and fruity,  'and what is it you want Maria?' his voice was husky and his eyes were burning. It was taking all his self control not to pin her against the wall, to fell her body under his.  She swallowed, the close proximity was making it harder for her to think, 'not you' she whispered 'so if it isn't me you want,' he leaned in, lips brushing against her ear sending shivers to her spine, 'then why did you kiss me back?'
