"My beautiful niece!Am so glad to see you."Mrs.Kim said when she saw Lisa.
"Hi aunt,am also glad to see you,how are you doing?"
"All good sweerie,how about you?Its been long since I saw you.You're so beautiful and all grown."
"Am also doing great aunty,and thank you"Lisa said shyly.
"And where is your mom?"Mrs.Kim asked.
"Oh she's outside,i guess she's on the phone."Lisa replied.
"oh let me make you something to eat then."Mrs.Kim said.
"Thank you aunty."
"So how's everything at school?"
"well am doing well academically,so i can say everything is fine."
"Greetings my beloved sister..oh my i really missed you dear."Lisa's mom,Mrs.Elena,said as she greeted her sister.
"Am so glad to see you...How are you doing?"
"Everything is fine except the hustle,it's tiring you know,"Mrs.Elena replied.
"Oh well,it's worth it,don't worry.Lisa just told me you were on the phone so i decided to make us a wrap."
"Oh yeah,but it's okay.Don't bother yourself too much."
"come on,here this is coffee."Mrs Kim said handing them each a cup of coffee.
"Thank you aunty."
"Thank you big sis"Lisa's mom replied.
"So Lisa,i had that you wanted to spend the holidays here.I was so excited.At least I won't be so bored."
"oh come on aunty."Lisa said.
“You guys really get along so you'll have a great time together."Mrs.Elena said.
"yeah,Lisa is a very sweet girl."Mrs.Kim said.They all laughed.
After the coffee,Mrs.Kim led Lisa to her room where she would be spending the nights.
Lisa's mother,Mrs.Elena,had unfinished business and so after chatting with her big sister,Mrs.Kim,she immediately left.
In the evening,Lisa and her aunt made dinner and later decided to sleep.Lisa was so excited that she was finally away from the shame.After what her ex-boyfriend did to her,she looked forward to a peaceful holiday.Here in Eastern ark,her friends wouldn't gossip her,and she won't also be the laughing stock.
She had not told anyone that the reason she wanted to stay at her aunt's place was because she was escaping the shame.Her boyfriend her totally humiliated her in front of the whole school.She had concealed the truth by telling her mom that she had just missed her aunt and would spend the holidays with her.To this,her mother had agreed with ease.
********Next morning**********
«Lisa's Pov »
I was woken up by the sun's rays which pierced through my curtain windows. The atmosphere was calm and I felt relaxed.The stay here at my aunt's place brought me nothing but joy.I mean,wasn't I far from my toxic boyfriend....i mean ex-boyfriend?
I took a quick shower,and then went downstairs for breakfast.
"Goodmorning swerrie,how was your night?"
"It was very peaceful aunty....just the way i wanted it to be."
“Thats good to hear.And weren't the nights in Greenville peaceful dear?"
"They were but....i don't wanna talk about it."
"Okay then,i prepared your favourite pancakes."
"Thank you aunty,you are the best."Lisa said as she munched down her meal.
The conversation was minimal.Mrs.Kim just stared at her beautiful niece while Lisa just concentrated on her meal.Her aunt could see she was avoiding eye-contact.
she broke the silence."Is there anything going on your mind honey?You know we could talk things out."
"What?No aunty am fine...jus remembered something."
Her aunty frowned.She could see Lisa wasn't okay.But she decided to let her be.After breakfast,Lisa helped her aunt to clear the table and then headed back to her room.
She found 5 missed calls from her friend Jake.She called back.
Lisa:Hey Jake wassup?
Jake:Hey, where are you?
Lisa:Why?Whats wrong?
Jake:Nooo like i came to check up on you.We didn't catch up after what Leo did to you.
Lisa:Oh ....uuum yeah.
Jake:You left in a hurry and didn't pick my calls.Are you okay?
Lisa:Yeah ....i am.Actually am out of town.Am at my aunt's place.
Jake:Whaaaaat!!!Lisa!Are you for real right now?
Lisa:Yeah,i just couldn't bear the shame.
Jake:Look Lisa,i know what he did was so skibidi but was it necessary for you to leave?
Lisa:yeah...it was...i mean...everyone saw it..what he did to me.
Jake:Am sorry for that by the way..but are you really at your aunt's place?Why didn't you tell me.
Lisa:Uuum...cause you would have stopped me duuh
Jake:Noooo
Lisa:Oooh okay...but i told you now
Jake:Lisa you could have left...
Lisa:See...you don't understand,the main reason i avoided not telling you...byeee
Jake:No wait....
Lisa hung up.Jake was a good friend.But he sometimes was a bit stubborn.Well,Lisa enjoyed his company but sometimes she hated it.Jake was kinda overprotective of his friends.And Lisa.....well she enjoyed freedom.
