|CHAPTER 3~Midnight Memories |'
"You'll find out all in good time fiore."
What did he mean by that?
As we danced against eachother—body to body, skin to skin, that's all that kept playing in my mind. Eventually, the crowd begins to die down, making me begin to see clearer through the groups of sweaty dancing bodies, but then I saw it, it was my best friend about to leave the club with the guy that asked her to dance earlier.
She didn't just ditch me for some guy, she wouldn't do that.
Surely enough, my phone goes off before I can come to a full sense of what just happened, but since I was too into dancing with the mystery guy, and didn't want to kill the mood. I turned to where my back was now against his front and began to dance against him. I slowly and subtly take out my phone, only to see a text from Veronica that said exactly what I thought it was gonna say.
Veronica:
Hey, pleaseee don't be mad, but I'm kinda going home with the guy we saw at the bar. I'll see you early tomorrow morning.
"Wow, some friend you got there." The guy says in my ear—snapping me out of the trance of emotions I was currently feeling.
"Did you look at my phone?" I ask in a stern tone as I turn around to face him, only to see the blue eyed man giving me the most mischievous grin. My blood begin to pump at the thought of how he snooped in something that doesn't concern him.
"How could I not? You were practically flaunting it in front of my face." He says with a snort before lightly flicking my phone, making me blush in embarrassment. He's right in a way, I mean, of course you're gonna look at something if it's literally right in front of your eyes.
I guess I wasn't as subtle as I was planning on being.
"Oh," is all I say before letting out a small awkward chuckle, only making the man laugh in response.
"You know, you really are a strange girl fiore." He says with an arched brow while grabbing be by my waist and pulling me closer into him, making me let out a small gasp from the sudden action.
"It's called liking my privacy." I say before pulling out of his deathly grip on my waist and turning to face him. The cocky grin playing upon his lips as I turn to look at him—enhancing his ruggedly good looks to a peek.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go yell at someone who is currently on my death list at the moment." I say before running off to the bar and away from the crowds of sweating bodies.
After making it to the bar that was across to the dancing floor, I unlock my phone and begin to dial Veronica. The dial tone goes off once, twice, three times. Until finally, I give up on the hopes that my best friend would actually answer when her other best friend needs her.
"Can I have a Gin and tonic please!" I exhaustingly yell out to the bar tender before placing my hand on my forehead. I wait a few minutes with my face in my hands until finally hearing the clink of my drink being placed on the table. Without hesitation, I quickly pull my hands off of my face and chug the drink down within a matter of a few minutes. I'm really not the one to drink, but after what today has brought me, I definitely deserve and need one at this moment. Right as I place the empty glass down on the counter, I see a figure in the corner of my eye.
"No luck?" The man from earlier on the dance floor says while leaning on the edge of the bar, scaring the absolute living s**t out of me in the process.
"Jesus! Do you always sneak up on people like you're going to kill them or something?" I say clenching my chest while still trying to catch my breath. A smirk begins to play upon his lips as he just stares at me for a second with a knowing look, as if there's something to read by the expression on his face. He then slowly leans forward and makes his face inches from mine before taking my chin in his hand.
"The irony in that comment is laughable fiore." He says in almost a whisper, making me take an audible gulp in intimidation before I suddenly feel his presence back away a bit.
"Come," He says in an dead pan tone before reaching his hand out for me to grab it. I sit there for a second while tilting my head and giving him a questioning look. I was about to tell him hell no and tell him to go find some other woman to bug, but before I could even part my lips to speak, he grabs my forearm and begins to drag me through the crowds of sweaty people.
"What are you doing?!" I yell over the music while trying to free my arm from his grip, but that helps in no way and only makes him pull me faster through the crowds. Before I knew it, I was being escorted out the back of the club, where it seemed there were the most bodyguards. We were walking up to a black SUV when I saw one of the very intimidating men standing near by next to it.
"Get in," He says letting go of my arm before walking to the drivers side and getting in. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know if he was just some crazy lunatic that was going to probably kill me, or maybe if he was just trying to be a nice person, and out of the kindness of his heart, was going to let me hitch a ride up to my house. I stand there debating for a second in the probably twenty degree whether I should run or not, but get cut off mid thought when I begin to hear the car window roll down.
"You getting in, or should I just leave your pretty little ass out here to freeze to death?" He says with a mischievous smile, making me contemplate for a second while avoiding his cold and penetrating blue orbs. With a moment of contemplation, I end up stomping my foot and rolling my eyes like a five year old girl before getting in, realizing that I had no other option sense I didn't have any cash on me. The heat from the car immediately envelops me like a warm blanket the moment I step foot inside, making me let out a sigh in content.
"Where to my lady?" He says in a fake British accent while straightening his posture. I suppress a laugh before looking at him with a really look plastered on his face.
"Well I would like to go home, and I'm definitely not about to tell you where I live."
"To my place it is." He says almost cutting me off before shifting the gear into drive and stepping onto the accelerator.
"What? No! That's not what I meant. I was hinting at you to let me out and maybe call me a cab, not take me to your place." I say while buckling up. He just lets out a sigh while shaking his head.
"You and I both know that if I left you out there by yourself, you wouldn't make it back home with your innocence in one peace." He says making me drop my head in my hands with a groan.
"Look I'm sorry for coming off kind of rude, but I just want this day to be over." I say as a stray tear begins to fall down my cheek at the memory of when I walked in on Brian and that floozy in bed together. I quickly turn my head to look out of the window, making sure he didn't see that I was crying, but all tries fail when I here him let out let out a soft but stern 'Hey'.
Keeping his eyes on the road he sets his hand on my thigh, I lightly gasp at how close he set his hand away from my throbbing heat, he immediately notices and quickly moved his hand down closer towards my knee, feeling like a horny teenager from missing the heat from his hand that was so close to reaching my s*x.
God, nows not the time to get turned on Luna.
I scold myself before beginning to hear the mans voice again.
"Look girl, I don't know what happened to you, but when we get to my place, I'll call a cab for you there if you want." He says in defeat before sliding his hand completely off my leg.
The rest of the car ride was silent, only the sound of the barely noticeable radio and our breathing to feel the air. I spend most of the car ride just looking out the window while getting lost in my thoughts that were currently over clouding my thinking.
"We're here." Is all I here before turning my head and seeing the man get out of the car. I wince and shut my eyes at the sound of the car door shutting, I leave my eyes closed for a second, but that second soon comes to an abrupt end when I hear my side of the car door open.
"My lady, you have reached your destination." He says faking another British accent while gesturing out the door, making the slight grin that was on my face turn up into a smile before letting out a small chuckle. I unbuckle my seatbelt before grabbing his now outreached hand and stepping out. I take a look up, and see it.
"Holy s**t," I mumble under my breath while looking up. A what looked like 5,500 square feet two story house stood above and beyond me, making my mouth go open in ah. I hear a small but deep chuckle rumble beside me, and before I knew it, I was walking into the large two story house with cautious footing—making sure not to trick some type of alarm that was probably set on a house like this.
"You can take a seat." He says gesturing towards the large living room beside us before walking straight into another room.
"Drink?!" He yells from what I can only assume is the kitchen.
"No thank you!" Is all I say before starting to twiddle my thumbs in my lap. Seconds later, I begin to see the large 6'3 man walk in with two bottles of water before setting one in front of both me and him.
"I got you water anyway." He says with a smile before sitting on the other couch across from me.
"Thanks." Is all I say before continuing to twiddle my thumbs.
"Why so shy all of a sudden fiore?" He says before standing up and sitting next to me on the other couch.
"Being shy is just a part of my personality I guess." I say with a shrug of my shoulders before looking up to meet his beautiful ocean blue eyes.
"Probably why he didn't want me anymore." I mumble after putting my head down and beginning to chip off the red nail polish that Veronica put on my nails earlier. I then feel his index finger be placed under my chin and a light tug of my face to make me look back into his now cold and steel eyes.
"What'd he do to you?" He says with no emotion or remorse showing on his tone, making me give him a questioning look before softly taking his wrist and shoving it away.
"What do you me-"
"Your boyfriend, I mean, it's pretty obvious that's why someone as innocent as you was at a club like that tonight, you definitely didn't come there willingly. So it must have been pretty bad for your best friend to had dragged you into a place like that." He says nonchalantly as if he were asking me to pass him the sugar. I sit there for a second with my mouth agape before finally finding the guts to speak.
"Really, are you seriously doing that?" I ask sternly as I stand up, making the man do the same in the process.
"Doing what?"
"Assuming you know me from Adam just because I only seem like an innocent girl." I say as casually as I can, but still shooting glares while doing so.
"It's pretty easy fiore, you're pretty much an open book." He says with a shrug while still smiling, a dimple on his cheek that I just noticed was there.
"Yeah, and how so?" I say with a smirk and c****d eyebrow, and that's when he took off.
"Well, for one, like I said before, you're not there because you want to be there, you're obviously there because your 'bestie' thought it would be good for you to do something and get out of your little bubble. While might I add, getting over whatever your boyfriend did to you, which I could only assume would be him breaking up with you or cheating. In a nutshell, you are a usually shy and conserved girl who probably finds reading 'fun', but when you wanted to just stay home and get over your issues while probably watching something as cheesy as Gilmore Girls, your friend wouldn't let you, and that's how your little innocent ass ended up in a hot and heated bar at eleven a clock at night. Oh, and might I add how lucky you are that you weren't there at any time past midnight, now that's when the real freaks come out." He says stopping in front of me and stopping his pacing as well. I couldn't believe he got all that from knowing me for just a few hours. Was I that readable? Was I that much of an open book where someone could just read everything about me by just looking into my life a bit. I hated how he knew this much about me, it made me feel so exposed and nude against the world.
"Am I that obvious?" I whisper softly before plopping back down on the couch.
"No. I'm just good at reading people, it's kind of something you learn to get good at in my line of business." He says rubbing the scruff on his face, making me want to take my hand and feel the stubble that was grown shortly around his sharply formed jaw.
"What do you do?"
"That's another story fiore, don't worry about it. Now why don't you tell me what happened with that boyfriend of yours that was dumb enough to let you go." He says completely shrugging off the question, but still making me blush slightly at his comment.
"Um, I kinda found him in bed with another girl while on our anniversary." I say before tilting my head down again. I hear him let out a deep breath before taking a beat to answer.
"Damn, that's rough, I'm really sorry fiore." He says and I just nod my head, not wanting him to hear the c***k in my voice from the tears that were beginning to stream down my face, there's a moment of silence before I feel a dip next to me on the couch.
"Okay, um, what makes you happy?" He ask unsure of himself, I just give him a questioning look before wipping off the smudged mascara that was under my eyes.
"Just go with it fiore." He says while wiping away a stray tear that was on my cheek with his warm thumb.
"I like reading, that always makes me feel better when I feel down, but when I was in high school, I use to play the violin, and it would automatically make me feel like I was somewhere else and nothing mattered in the world but my instrument and the notes that were set in front of me." I say, and like that, the man grabs my hand and begins to lead me into another room.
"W-Where are you taking m-"
"I know exactly what would help you." He says before opening another door and turning on the soft lights. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The room was filled with nothing but classical instruments. From the smallest of the group, a violin, to the largest of a cello.
"Wait right here," he says before going off into a small closet in the room, I wanted to cry from the sight. I always loved playing a violin since I was in elementary, and played it all through junior high into high school. But something happened, and I wasn't allowed to play the instrument anymore, which completely broke my soul. Soon after, he comes out of the closet holding a violin, a violin I knew immediately by the look of it.
"The Habeneck." I mumble out as he holds the beautiful piece right before my eyes.
"Ah, so you've heard of it?" He says while I shake my head before he even finish the sentence. He hands me the piece as I begin to look it over and all its beautiful glory.
"Yes! It was created by Francesco Stradivari—Antonio Stradivari son in 1734. How did you even get this, it's an ancient artifact that no one can get." I say with a smile on my face while looking as all the little cracks and crevices.
"Eh, it's a long and boring story that my mom told me, but all I remember about the story was it was an ancient artifact and I need to guard it with my life." He says while just staring at me while I look over the violin.
"Play it." And at that, I stop what I'm doing and look at him with my mouth agape.
"What?! No no no. I haven't played since high scho-" I say while gently pushing the violin back at him, but he just grabs my wrist and cuts me off before saying once again.
"Play. It." He says with a small smile. I take in a large breath before finally giving in. I set the violin between my chin and shoulder and lift my elbow. With one stroke of the horse hair against the strings I begin to play River Flows In Me—an old piece I learned back in high school and learned to love the melody. I mess up a few times before and just say 'Sorry', but he just nods and I continue. With that, I begin to play. Note to note and stroke to stroke, I hit every single note that was played for the song. The soft melody fills the room and both of our ears. I take a peek through my closed eyes to see the man. He is just standing there with a look of adoration and shock plastered on his face, making me smile slightly. With a few more notes, I finish with one last stroke and open my eyes with a sigh.
"So, how'd I do? Not bad for someone who hasn't played in a few years huh?" I say with a chuckle. I expect to get a laugh in return, but instead, he takes a few steps closer towards me, making our bodies against each other and my smile turn into a serious look. I part my lips to speak, but stop when I feel his warm hands grab my face and pull it inches from his, making all thoughts and words immediately fly out the window.
"How could someone so horrible and evil, get something so beautiful and talented as you." Is all he says before he pushes his face into the crook of my neck while beginning to trail light kisses up and down, making me set the violin down before grabbing his neck and forcing more passion into the light kisses. The annoying part of me was telling me to stop this and push him off, but the part I love the best is telling me to shut my mouth and enjoy all the pleasure you would get tonight. I get cut off from my thoughts when I feel a pair of soft warm lips be placed on mine. It was gentle and sweet, and I was about to deepen it when he pulled away and placed his forehead against mine.
"I'm sorry, you shouldn't do this with me, you're just too inn-"
"Shut up." I say pulling away and running my fingers through his long dark hair. He just looks down and avoids my eyes at all cost, but I grab his hair and tug it to make him look into my eyes.
"Just shut up, when will people stop thinking of me as this delicate little china doll and treat me like my age. I am twenty-one years old mystery man, and I would expect at least you to treat me like it. Please, treat me like I'm a woman and not a little girl, even if it's just for tonight." I say while looking straight into his eyes.
"What do you want me to do to you tonight fiore?" He says with a hint of humor in his tone as he begins to lightly place kisses up my neck again.
"Make love to me, have s*x with me. Say it however you want, just please take me. I need tonight, I need you tonight." And with that, he mashes his lips onto mine into a heap of passion.
"And I'll give you tonight."
