Even when the car drove away, I stood there in the middle of the concrete pavement, staring at the towering double doors of my building surrounded by passing students. Did he just say those words? He’s joking, right? I mean we barely knew each other, and do I feel the same way? I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know!  I closed my eyes for a split second and heard the voices again, transporting me into a nightmare-like trance. The bellowing voice surrounded me, drowning out the sound of hurrying students in the background.  “Tch! Sinful…” The voice echoed with each utterance, as if I was in a very hollow cave and couldn’t see anything.
