Chap 6 The Envelope

Author’s POV

It has been 3 days since Anna joined the cafe. It was going pretty well. She didn’t talk much even with Crystal.

Everyday one of the worker stayed late for closing. Today, it was Anna’s turn to stay late at the cafe. It was 10:30 pm when a car stopped in front of the cafe. A person with a long black coat and jeans came out. He wore a cap and a mask to cover his face. He entered the cafe and went directly where Anna was standing. Took an envelope out of his pocket, slid it towards Anna, turned on his heels, hopped in his car and went away.

Anna looked at the envelope and put it in the drawer without opening it. Then she went to take her bag from the restroom and left the cafe after closing.

But somebody was keeping an eye on her every move.

Unknown’s POV

What a naive girl ! I take out my phone and type a message.

Me : Boss, someone just came and

left. He gave the girl an

envelope.

Boss : Did u see him ?

Me : Nope.. was wearing a mask.

Boss : And the envelope ?

Me : She left it in the drawer, her

mistake.

Boss : Bring it to me CJ.

Me : On my way Boss.

After informing the boss about the envelope, I make my way towards the cafe.

Boss’ POV

“It took you an hour to arrive though you should be here in 30 minutes” I say pointing towards the burger and coke in his hand including an envelope.

“Boss, it isn’t fair if I work day and night not eating a proper meal”

“Oh c’mon CJ, we ate a while ago” scoffs Gabriel sitting beside me.

“The envelope CJ..?” I ask.

“Here boss..” he says giving me the envelope.

I open the envelope and it’s a USB in it.

“I need a laptop”

Gabriel gives me his laptop and I insert the USB after the necessary precautions to avoid any virus or hack system.

Luckily there isn’t any problem and an icon is shown on the screen. I click the icon and there’s something written in code wording which I haven’t known before.

There are just crossed lines and on the top SOLVE is written. I’ve never received any of these codes before.

Being impatient, I order Gabriel, “Get the jet ready. We’re heading back to LA”

“Yess boss”

“Put this place on guard as no one knows we’re in London”

“Sure boss. We’ll leave tomorrow”

“Not tomorrow Gabriel but today.. in 2 hours”

I take the USB and walk towards my room upstairs.

While climbing the stairs I just kept on thinking..

Who gave this USB to Anna and why did she accept this.. Did she know the mysterious guy..?
