CHAPTER-9 Nisha was chasing him while he was shouting, “fat lady, give rest to your leg, else in this old age you’ll land in the hospital, you might not know but in this age, your bones will not heal then how you will walk?” Listening to his words, she fumed in anger and averred, “you look at yourself, who faints but me? Never, I am strong, unlike you.” Abhinav was about to rebuke but stopped seeing someone who glared at them. “See, what happened to your mouth? Oh, not finding anything in your defence? So sad,” Nisha smirked chucklingly but seeing him froze and looking at her back, she turned yelling, “who is there? Perhaps ghost, that’s why your face colour is the drain,” but seeing a person standing there, arms across the chest and gazing at them with wrath, she turned back signalling something to Abhinav. Abhinav immediately sat on the floor huffing while Nisha started acting, “Abhinav, what happened to you, child? You are tired, let go to the room and rest. I will also go to the kitchen and prepare something for us.” He nodded in yes, about standing, but stopped by that person whose gaze terrified him. “Wow, what drama do you both do? One will take a rest while another is cooking, but a few minutes ago they behaved like a cat and mouse, but now they see how much affection arose,” Siyali said. “No words,” Siyali said before they could speak, both hung their heads but soon their eyes widened listening to her laugh. Siyali was laughing and said, “I can’t believe my eyes; you both are fighting like nursery kids.” Nisha became emotional seeing her daughter laughing after two years. She kept glimpsing at her with a smile while Siyali was still cackling. “But you know, it was fun to watch and yes not to forget both of your faces when you caught, it was like you caught while sneaking in somebody home,” Siyali said in between. “See Sneha, I said, I’ll make everything fine. You can’t see them sad, so I can’t. This is only starting, they’ll laugh often, only you’re missing here and I know soon you’ll be here then all things will prevail all right,” he thought to close his eyes, so tears tarnished nothing. “You’re laughing at me, go I’ll not talk to you,” Nisha tricked with outrage, Abhinav whose neck hung. He immediately sneered upwards only to find Nisha blinked her eyes signalling to play along with her. “Yes, even I’ll not. You can laugh at this old lady, but why me? I’m your handsome Abhinav,” he said making faces, Siyali stopped laughing and gazed at them holding ears, and repentant eyes. “It’ll not work,” Nisha said and looked at Abhinav, signalling him to continue his act. He nodded yes and turned his face angrily. “Then how can I get forgiven?” Siyali asked even after knowing they’re acting as she just wanted Nisha back to herself who used to enjoy her life with enthusiasm. “Let plan dine outside at your birthday, don’t deny this time,” Nisha sentimentally spoke, Siyali bow her head recalling how at her every birthday Sneha used to plan dinner outside with her saving, and when she used to scold her for wasting money how much innocent look, she used to give her. It used to melt her heart and at last, she needs to agree. “Please Siyali, it has been a long time since we celebrated anything, let’s start again living and I am sure this time everything will fall together,” saying Nisha shifted her gaze to Abhinav who nodded in yes. “As you wish, but simple dinner is nothing much,” Siyali said difficulty as after Sneha’s death, everything appeared false, but now she needed to move on, if not for herself then for her mother who took the first step today. “Really, you won’t deny at the last moment,” Nisha asked, doubting. Siyali smiled, touching her neck and mouthed, “I promise.” Nisha happily fondled her hair, embracing her. Siyali looked at Abhinav, who was smiling at them. She extended her hand. Abhinav was about to join but stopped, looking towards Nisha. “For once you can,” Nisha mouthed, he ran towards them and hugged saying “wow birthday, I’ll eat a lot, also go shopping but when is Aunt’s birthday?” “Next month,” Siyali responded, enthusing him. The trio was smiling, but it didn’t reach their eyes as they missed someone close to them and their lives. Nisha was the first one to break the hug, and cupped Siyali’s face, “keep like this.” Saying that, she glared at Abhinav and went away while he made a confused face murmuring, “her granny is so much complicated, a few moments ago she herself showed a good side to me but now, well I am glad Sneha isn’t that much.” Siyali caressed Abhinav’s face and moved, but stopped seeing Sneha’s photo. She turned towards Abhinav thinking about something and asked, “you met my daughter?” He became apprehensive but made a confused face. “The day you fainted; you were talking about a girl. It wasn’t clear, but I felt like you’re trying to say something about my Sneha,” Siyali said here with closed eyes thinking how that day he lost control of himself. “Faint? I’m healthy, why do I faint.” He jumped, showing how much he’s healthy. “My mistake, stop hopping like a frog else you’ll fall then I’ll not take care of you instead I’ll slap you,” saying this, she moved. “Abhinav what you did? Can’t you drive the car carefully? From today onwards you aren’t allowed to drive, wherever you need to go, the driver will take you else I guess you will not only end up wounding yourself but also killing someone,” he recalled his mother scolding and slapping him on his face when he came after the accident. Sadness crept over his face, a sad chuckle escaped from his mouth. “You know, I didn’t get hurt when Dad kept quiet but when you kept your lip sealed it broke my heart. I was your son, but instead of me, you choose to trust others well I don’t blame you as I am only bad who doesn’t deserve anyone’s care, see even my Saira isn’t with me,” he went towards his room smiling painfully. ................................. Agnihotri’s Mansion, Ram was quietly looking towards the window lost in his thought, his stupor broke by call, he immediately lifted it, his brows raised while the face tightened. “I need to look after Abhinav’s safety,” Ram mumbled after hanging the call and marched in the lobby muttering, “this time, I won’t allow anyone to touch my son.” On his way he collided with Vivek who was happily mumbling some song and earphone attached in his ears, Ram sniggered seeing him and lifted his head frowning face. “What happened, Uncle? Did again Aunt ask to bring that cheap?” Vivek said, removing earphones. Ram clenched his jaws and looked at him with a worried expression. “No, she didn’t, but it’s about you,” Ram tried to say but interrupted by Vivek “what about me?” “Brother is thinking to extend the date of marriage also he has second thoughts about that because someone said bad about her family also he thinks you’re not capable to handle business and marriage together, I tried my best to take him in my words but don’t know I am successful or not.” “Now, what is his problem? Once I get the property on my name I will show him, his true place but till then please Uncle do something as I promise after my marriage I will safeguard Arya’s future also will make sure Arya get to study at her desire place,” Vivek remained Ram a deal which they made a few months ago, Ram chuckled inside thinking, “first safeguard yourself, for Arya, her brother and father are there.” “I remember that’s why I will do anything to make sure your marriage happens without problem,” Ram expression became frown again, and eyes glittered with tears. Vivek left from there after thinking, “nothing bad will happen.” “Sorry my beloved Brother and my nephew, but we can’t get happiness over ashes,” he said smirkingly while playing with his mobile and moved towards his room sternly. He saw Anjali, who was in her thoughts. “You didn’t sleep?” He asked, she looked at him then averted her gaze. “Why are you playing with your health? Please take care of yourself else how I and Arya will live,” he begged sadly. “I saw hate in his eyes for me, and you are the reason behind that, 8 years before you not stopped me then,” she stood without completing her words and went from there. “If that time I stopped Abhinav then he might not be alive, I hadn’t any option but all this you’ll not understand, also I don’t wish to put you in danger and for that even if I have to take your hate then I will do,” he moved from there. “I can’t understand anything, one side I feel my son is fine but then why he’ll act and another side I feel my husband is hiding something from me,” she mumbled. Anjali smiled painfully, thinking Ram shared nothing with her. Then why she’s expecting him to come themselves for telling her the truth, and now her son seems to become like him. “You’re a showpiece in everyone’s life, no one needs you neither your son nor your husband,” she mumbled, reminiscing Abhinav pushing her, and Ram’s swear. She laid at her side crying silently, soon sleep took over her. Ram came there and sat beside her. “Whatever I’m doing, it’s only for you and our children. I sinned keeping silent all these years but no more soon I’ll bring Abhinav here too with all love,” he muttered. “I’ll make Rohit Agnihotri, and his son live in that much misery. They pray to die but even death will leave their path as they don’t deserve death too,” his face anguished recalling 8 years before the incident. “He threw my son saying he’s a black spot on Agnihotri’s name but now he’ll be helpless and I’ll be enjoying it,” he said, caressing her forehead. He took his mobile and messaged someone. The move will be on the engagement. That person saw the message and smiled, typing. “Thank you for your help, I hope our plan becomes successful and we get a reward for our patience.” Ram saw that, and typed I’m doing for my son, but can’t understand why you’re doing? And who are you? That person looked at the laptop screen sorrowfully. Don’t worry, I’m neither your enemy nor taking advantage of your situation. I have my own reasons, which are even bigger than yours. Good night, we will surely reach our destination. Ram deleted all messages recalling how ten months ago, he got a call from a man unknown number who asked him to join in the game to destroy his brother. First, he was hesitating as however; he hated his brother but truth can’t hide they share same blood over that his brother is stronger than him in terms of connection and an expert in the mind game, he cannot even stand in front of him but when he received another robotic call, his mind took a 360-degree turn. “I know your brother tried to kill your son in the past as all properties were on his name. Your son is fine for now as you yourself sent him away by not giving him a chance to prove himself, but your daughter is in danger as some shares are on her name too. He is planning something against your daughter. Do you want to take the risk for her too? Will she be able to handle the situation from which your son went? If yes then you can wait for your brother’s tactic and then do the same as four years ago but if not then help me as without your help I can’t save or destroy Rohit Agnihotri.” When he inquired about his brother’s activities, he got to know Rohit is in contact with a killer. It grew his anger, felt to kill him or his son but he can’t give such easy death to those who are the reason behind his painful life, so helped the caller and target that which Rohit loves most and that was fake respect and his over smart son. Ram opened eyes and laid beside Anjali, jerking all thoughts. He kept discerning her painfully thinking how in these 8 years they went far. “I hope soon our life gets normal,” Ram thought to whirl the other side. To be continued.
