“Yes, Mom. I know to double check the locks and to keep my phone by me. I am not a child. Please give my kids kisses for me and I will call again in the morning. Good Night I love you.” I hung up the phone and looked around. I have been making sure to put wood on the fire to keep it going like A.J told me to do and unpacked my bags. It is now 9pm and my stomach regretting not buying groceries before coming here. I wonder if there is somewhere that delivers here so I started to google nearby places to eat when I heard a knock on the door.                 It was Sophia and she brought me food! She sat the food on the counter in the kitchen and sat down on a chair. “ I didn’t remember if you brought groceries and A.J said he didn’t see you bring any bags of food in so I thought I would bring you something,” Sophia said as she opened the box to show Lasagna.                 “I didn’t and I was actually just about to see if any places delivered up here. You are amazing. Thank you so much. It looks delicious.”                 “Well thank you. It was actually nice to cook food for someone who might actually take their time eating it to taste it. My son’s help me run this place and when they show up for dinner its like a race to see who can eat the most the fastest.” She got up and pulled out some places and silverware.                 “It’s is crazy how some guys can do that. Sometimes I wish I just cooked some random crap to see if they would even taste it. Some of my guy friends literally are done eating by the time I even sit down. Would you like a drink? I have water, water, and water.” I laughed as I made two glasses of ice water for us and sat down next to her.                 “I just tell my sons one day it will catch up to them. I actually hope it doesn’t since only one out of the four is married. I keep telling them I am not getting any younger and I would like to have some grandkids before I pass on.” She sat down beside me with both of our plates and we dug in.                 “This tastes amazing. Thank you again so much,” I exclaimed as I sat stuffing my face at a slow pace. I will have to get the recipe from her at some point because it is way better then mine.                 “ You are very welcome. So not to be nosy but you mentioned you have a son. Is he at home with your husband?”                 “My son and daughter at with my mother this week. I just finished going through a nasty divorce while doing my first semester in nursing school so I needed a break. I love both my kids and would do anything for them but I needed to put my strong face on the back burner to digest everything that happened.”                 “ I am so sorry. I was a single mom of my four boys after my husband ran off with his secretary. It was rough a lot of the time but they are worth every minute of it so don’t give up. “                 “I am so sorry you had to go through that. My ex-husband is just an douche. He cares more about money then anything else. He even signed his rights over since he wouldn’t get full custody and he only wanted that so he didn’t have to pay child support. I hate his guts for hurting my babies in that way. My son still asks about him and its hard to explain it,” I blurted out as a tear fell down my face. I haven’t told that part to anyone, not even my mother. They all just thought he signed his rights over because he barely saw them anyways. They all knew he was a shitty dad and an even worse husband. I had just stayed with him because my kids deserved a father and I wanted it for them so bad.                 “Oh my gosh honey. Men can be such pigs. You deserve this vacation and you will figure it all out. We all do the best we can and mothers do it even better. I know you don’t have anything planned this week but I would love to do a girls day. Most of the visitors here are families or couples so I don’t get to do much with anyone other then my sons and they are not good shoppers.” She put the cover back on the food and looked at me expectly for an answer.                 “I would love to. I need to go into town to get some groceries for the week so maybe we can do that after? I love to browse and try one clothes.” I got up and washed the dishes as she packed up the food to take home                 “Fantastic. Ill see you for breakfast and then we can go. My son’s can run the place for a bit tomorrow. Fingers crossed they won’t burn anything down or create havoc.” She laughed and let herself out. I locked the door behind her and turned all the lights off. I was pooped so I headed to get ready for bed. I just realized that I don’t have to set an alarm for tomorrow, and I don’t have to get a kid ready for school while chasing the other one down to get them fully dressed. Holy smokes I just had to get myself ready and I would actually have time for makeup. I did fist bump in the air while brushing my teeth.                 I got into the bed and plugged my phone in. I had triple check all lock while rolling my eyes and laid down for bed. I closed my eyes and when they were about all the way shut I thought a saw a pair of glowing eyes in my window. It couldn’t be a small animal because the window was too high for even a wolf unless they put their feet up on the wall. I figured I was freaking myself out and just went to sleep.
