Chapter 15

Twilight POV

"Lovely night we're having, isn't it?"

I turned around only to find Alex sitting by the window.

"And you could've used the door like a normal person."

"I'm not normal and the window is much faster and more fun."

"And also pretty much the easiest way to get hurt."

"But I didn't."

"The guards could've mistaken you for someone trying to break in."

"Not if I told them that I was going to do this and asked for permission."

"And they just let you?"

"Does mind control count?"

"Obviously not."

"In other news, you should really make sure that your window is shut properly at this time, you never know who might pop in through it."

"Thanks for the practical example. But some of us like letting in fresh air while we're working and I was going to shut it once I was done. What are you doing here anyway?"

"I said that I'd think about what you said but not that I wouldn't try my luck. That being said, would you like to join me on a walk?"

"Did you seriously come through the window just to ask me to go on a walk with you?"

"It's more romantic, isn't it?"

"You're forgetting that I could've thrown something dangerous at you if I'd been jump scared. A trip to the hospital doesn't sound romantic if you ask me."

"But you didn't. So, yes or no?"

"Will you come through the door next time if I say yes?"

"I'm happy that you're already thinking of a next time before we've even started so I'll grant you that much."

"Sigh. Wait at the door because I'm not going out through the window."

"Fine by me." He said before jumping off.

I swear, sometimes that guy's a crackhead. I finished up what I was doing before meeting up with him.

We pretty much just walked in silence. Mostly because my mind was preoccupied with everything that's happened.

"Penny for your thought?" He asked.

Before I answered him, I sneezed. I wonder who's talking s**t about me behind my back. Well, there are a few suspects that come to mind, one of them being an i***t who's proven to be a huge pain in the ass in the torturous few hours that I had to spend in the same room as her. I was going to think of more fitting ways to describe her but Alex was distracting me with his snickering.

"What's so funny?"

"You still sound like a kitten when you sneeze."

"Are you seriously making fun of the way I sneeze?"

"To be fair, I didn't expect that from you. You also didn't answer my question."

"If you must know, my life took a complete 180 turn in just a week."

"Are you going to be a little more specific with the details?"

"I don't think you want to know."

"Try me."

"I ran into you know who, he found out about Natsumi and now I have to tolerate seeing his stupid face every so often. Then I found out that he's getting married to someone else at the end of the year and she turned out to be a huge pain in the ass who won't stop pestering me about being a single mom. Seriously, what’s up with that? Then the Moon Goddess herself visits me in my dream to basically tell me that my life is going to be f****d up and probably end with death if I don't make the right decisions. What decisions, I don't know and she's been visiting me quite a lot these days and saying more or less the same thing. About three days ago I got drunk out of my mind and woke up only to find myself half naked and with his scent all over me. I don't know or even want to know what happened that night. I almost killed my best friend's mate who, by the way, is a Rogue and you know very well how I feel about Rogues. I agreed to let him stay but only under certain conditions that she isn't happy about and now we're barely talking to each other. The only good thing that came out of all this the fact that I took a nap earlier. Oh yeah, and that Trey and I sorted our mess out and we're cool now."

"I'm a little lost but wow."

"I know, right? Story of my life."

"If you ask me, it sounds like you just need to take a break from everything."

"No kidding."

"That being said, do you want to be my date for a social event?"
