Chapter 25

Luna POV

I was wondering when she would find out. I suppose I should pay her another visit; she must have questions that need answers.

"Alpha, I see you have figured out what your gift is."

"Why two?"

"In time, you will learn the reason for this. But what your father told you is true. She lies dormant for the most part but awakens once you feel intense negative emotions. That is when she forcefully pushes you and your other wolf into a cage in the darkest part of your mind. And once she sees a threat, she will not allow either of you out of that cage until she has eliminated that threat. Keeping her dormant is a fine idea. But remember, an Alpha should be able to maintain control over their wolf and you will need her in the future."

"How do I do that?"

"That is for you to figure out. Think of this as a test and both you and your wolf will need to work together. I will be there offer assistance if necessary. There's something else that you should know concerning that."

"More bad news?"

"That depends on you. The reason why I didn't prepare a second mate for you is that you were already supposed to have two."

"Meaning?"

"As you already know, you have two wolves. But that does not necessarily mean that they are one in the same. They are just two separate wolves, no more and no less. And every wolf gets a mate. Technically speaking, your second mate is actually your first mate. Originally, he was not supposed to be your mate at all but it happened."

"You mean to tell me that I was supposed to have two mates?"

"Yes."

"At the same time?"

"That is correct."

"Two guys at the same time? Scratch that, I was supposed to be with two guys who, by the way, are related? I'm sorry but that sounds kind of messed up."

"I know, but I'm supposed to give every wolf a mate. Although I didn't think that it would matter if I gave you two or not because I highly doubted that you would find your other one if you met one of them."

"Wait, the first time you came to me, you told me that Takumi wasn't supposed to be the "second" mate that you prepared for me. Who is?"

"Unfortunately, that does not matter because she already found a mate."

“She?”

“Yes. I had thought that she would be a good fit for you which is why I chose her for you.”

My mind is officially blown and my brain matter is scattered all over the place. That would’ve been awkward because I’ve been on team d**k my whole life. And I was half expecting for her to say Alex.

"But back to business, tomorrow you both will face your second wolf for the first time just to see what you are working with."

Twilight POV

As usual, she disappeared just before I woke up. Honestly, that was the most disturbing conversation I've ever had with her.

The bed felt more occupied than usual. I wonder...Oh, never mind. Natsumi was in it. She must have gotten in while I was asleep again. I don't mind but a little heads up would be nice before I get a heart attack one of these days. I got out while trying not to wake her up and disappeared into the bathroom. By the time I'd finished getting ready, she was awake.

"Hello, Mama."

"Hey, baby. Why didn't you tell me that you wanted to sleep with me?"

"Didn't wanna wake you."

"It's ok if you wake me up. C'mon, let's get you ready."

For obvious reasons, I always bathe her after feeding her.

"What do you want to wear?" I asked her.

"That and that."

She pointed to an overall dress and striped shirt. I wasn't expecting that since it isn't her usual choice but who am I to judge?

"Ok."

Afterwards, I left her with Hanako since she wanted to play with Katashi and after a while, she came into my office to do her usual business. Then my dad came in with a bouquet of chrysanthemums and each of them were a different colour. Now that’s something you don’t see everyday. It makes me wonder if he has a date. I’m not sure how I’d feel about that.

“Hi Pop pop.”

“Hey, Angel. How are you?”

“Me’s ok.”

“That’s good.’

“Should I ask who the flowers are for?” I asked.

“They’re your favourite so it should be obvious.”

I know I said that I’m not really the flowers type. But I may or may not have a soft spot for chrysanthemums and blue roses. And let me not forget about rainbow roses too. I remember when I first saw them in his mother’s garden back when we were still kids. I didn’t believe they were real until she offered to show me by growing one herself using just a seed and all other stuff needed to grow flowers. It took some time but in the end I was convinced.

“What’s the catch?”

“Nothing because they’re not from me. They’re from Alex.”

“They are?”

“Yes. He was here earlier but I told him that you still asleep and he asked me to give them to you after you wake up.”

“I’m surprised that he still remembers.”

“I did say that he is respectable and virtuous and it’s nice to hear someone call you by your first name.”

“But you do.”

“I don’t think it counts if its only when you’re in trouble. I also see that you two are getting along well these days.”

“Anyway, is there anything else?”

“That’s not really the best way to change the subject but no.” He said before giving me the flowers and leaving.

I wonder what the card says this time.

Thank you for a fun night. My mother says I should bring you more often.

As much as I don’t like dressing up, I can’t say I didn’t have fun. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t mind doing it again. Even means having to dress up again. I noticed that Natsumi stopped playing with her toys for a whole five minutes. She's actually just been staring at the ceiling.

"Tsumi, is something wrong?"

"Mama, me’s bowed."

Since when is she bored? I'm surprised that she even knows the meaning of the word.

"Ok then why don't you go and play with Katashi?"

"Alweady did."

“What about with Pop pop?”

“Nah. Latew.”

"How about we go for a run?"

It's not really we if I'm the one who's running while she's on my back.

"Nah."

"Ok then what do you want to do?"

She just shrugged.

"Should we go to papa then?"

“Hmm, ok.”

Finally, she gave me something to work with.
