Chapter 6

Moon Goddess POV I made my way through many dreams until I reached the one I intended to. And my what a... uh... an interesting dream. I mostly just see food everywhere. After much searching, I finally found the Alpha I was looking for. She seemed to be enjoying herself and did not notice me approaching her. "What an interesting dream you are having, Alpha. Most people dream of things they do not have but wish to obtain. But I assume you are not one of them." Her startled expression amused me. Oh my, it would seem that I nearly scared her to death. But I do not blame her, she did not expect someone else to be here. And it is not every day, or rather night, that the Moon Goddess herself visits your dream. "I'm sorry but who are you?" She amuses me more by the second. I cannot help but let out a little laugh. The expression on her face tells me that she was serious. I had hoped that she was, how others put it, "messing with me", it's rather amusing when she does. But I suppose she was not. "Sorry, I thought that my physical appearance would make it obvious."   Twilight POV I took a good look at the strange lady, who oh so graciously invaded my favourite dream. Hmmm, let's see. Silver hair, grey eyes so light that they're almost glowing, pure white robe that's flowing even though there's no wind, silver jewellery either crescent or star shaped, emitting a moon-like glow and a motherly aura.   Moon Goddess POV She seems to be deep in thought. Or perhaps she is in shock, she is not making it easy to tell. "It's rude to stare for that long. Have you figured it out yet?" I asked. "Nope. Never seen you before in my life." That was... unexpected, disappointing even. "I was messing with you, Moon Goddess." She snorted. "Oh." I laughed a bit. An interesting one indeed. "But please, call me Luna." "Isn't it supposed to be Selene?" "Are you Greek?" "No, despite the fact that I have a Greek name, but I'm not Roman either." "Fair point. I just like the name Luna more than Selene." "Sorry, it just makes you sound..." "As though I am an Alpha's mate? I am well aware of that but I do not mind. Have you ever wondered why Alphas' mates are called Lunas?" "To be honest, no. But now I'm interested to know." "Think of it this way, the Sun and Moon coexist to bring about balance to the world. It is the same with an Alpha and Luna in a pack. An Alpha is important for a pack to exist. Just like how all living things cannot be without the Sun, a pack cannot be without an Alpha. Like the Sun, an Alpha is harsh, strong, wild and ensure their pack's survival. Their mates are the ones who balance this out so that the pack is not led without fairness. They are also strong but in a different way; they are more gentle, nurturing and almost motherly towards their pack. They share the same personality traits that I have hence they are called Lunas. And also because it would be strange to call them Selenes." "I guess that would be really weird. So is that why she-wolves who are destined to be Lunas have white wolves?" "Correct." "So Lunas are like the Moon hence they have white wolves. But if Alphas are like the Sun, why do they have black wolves?" "Yin and yang, my dear. A black and white wolf mean that a pack is complete. It is all about balance." "Then how come some Lunas don't have a white wolf?" "Believe or not, some things are beyond my control. But sometimes I like to mix it up a little, to keep things interesting." "Why are you here? I'm sure you know that you're one of the last people I want to talk to." "Oh right, I almost forgot the reason why I came here in the first. Since you were not listening to my messenger, I had to come to you personally to let you know that I have not forsaken you." "It doesn't seem that way to me." "It may seem as though I have but I have not. Seeing any of my children suffer is most unpleasant, I share your pain. And as I have said before, there are things that are beyond my control. I already had plans for you but your first mate rejecting you was not one of them. I have been watching you since that day because I lost control over your destiny. Your future became unclear and I was interested to see what happens next. Then your second mate was also not part of my plans because he wasn't the one I prepared for you. Things between the two of you started out a little questionable but slowly began improving. I thought it would end well and everything would fall back into place. But unfortunately, that did not happen and things took a turn for the worse." "How do things look now?" "As it stands, I am still unclear of what your future holds. There are countless outcomes that await you, good and bad and a few involve death, but none of them is definite and I hope that the one I had planned for you comes to pass. I cannot interfere even if I wish to but I can offer you guidance and warnings. Before I leave, I shall leave you with a piece of advice. Whatever happens next is up to you, everything is in your hands. Do not lose sight of what is dear to you and do not be afraid to reclaim what is rightfully yours even if it does not seem as though it is worth reclaiming. Most importantly, do not be too weary of others. Trust a little more and open your heart a tiny bit and you will have a better chance of getting a good outcome." "Before you go, I need to know something. Why do I still feel the mate bond with my second mate?" "If memory serves me right, you did not officially reject him, yes? But I advise you to think carefully before you make a decision. I will let you know when the time is right to do what you think is best."   Twilight POV I woke up just as she vanished. What Luna said left me a little uneasy but who wouldn't be. I mean, the Moon Goddess comes to your dream to tell you that she has no control whatsoever over your future and whatever happens next is in your hands and the outcome could be good or bad or even death. Anyone would be scared out of their minds. Uneasy, in my case. I wonder what she meant by reclaiming what's rightfully mine. How come information like that always comes in riddles? I guess it's some unspoken rule or something. It's a lot to digest and I have some questions. I wonder when I'll see her again. But the thing that's bothering me the most is that I didn't reject him. How did I forget something like that? The award for the biggest i***t on the planet definitely goes to me. "Mama, are you ok?" I heard. I was so deep in thought that I didn't notice Natsumi coming in. "Yeah, why?" "I been calling you but didn't say something and looked at nothing." "Sorry, I was just thinking." "Thinking?" "About today." "Today?" "Don't you remember; you're going to see your papa." "Oh yeah."
