The Pains of Guilt

Chapter 24

Third person POV

She came back home after dropping off Natsumi and found her dad waiting for her.

"How did it go?"

"It was a little awkward at first but adjusting was easy. So pretty well, I think."

"I'm glad you're handling this well considering your condition." Those words left his mouth before he could stop himself.

"What condition?"

"Did I say condition? I meant inhibition."

"Papa Wolf."

"What?"

"You know you can't brush me off that easily. Now spill it, old man."

"I'm not an old man. Anyway, about your condition, its seriousness depends on how you take it. You were born with two wolves. I know. It sounds impossible but it's true and your mom and I didn't know about it until you were about six. The day you were born was a solar eclipse, you came out at the exact moment when the moon completely blocked the sun and you also came with a bunch of surprises. For starters you had silver hair and then there was the fact that you already had your ears and tail. But they didn't match the colour of your hair like they were supposed to be, they were black. The doctors told us that there was nothing wrong; you were just as normal as any other pup and that you might've already gone through your transition while still in your mom's womb. As for the colour of your ears and tail, they weren't sure about that but we were told that there was a possibility of you having a black wolf. It didn't make sense because only Alphas got black wolves and never their female counterparts or any other female for that matter. But I see why now. Anyway, there was no explanation for your hair though. Everything was fine for the next few days but then one day, your ears and tail just disappeared."

"Where exactly is this story going?"

"Remember that Rogue incident with your mother and how you said that everything went black?"

"Yeah."

"That's was the day you shifted for the first time. You actually had a black wolf. The Rogue was never put on trial because you, or rather, your wolf had already taken care of him. I'm not going to go into details but I will tell you that by the time I got there, not much of him was left. You almost attacked me and if I didn't recognize your scent, I probably would've done the same because I thought that you were a random wolf that attacked both the Rogue and your mother. It took a while to calm you down and when you did, you passed out and shifted back."

"Then why was she white instead of black?"

"That's the part that I'm getting to. When your wolf turned out to be white instead of black, there was only one explanation even though it was impossible but it was the only logical one. You have two wolves. And my guess is that your other one only comes out when you snap. That's probably why you lose control."

"Is there anything else I need to know because this is just ridiculous."

"I think that's about it."

"Are you sure?"

"I think so."

"You really should've told me sooner."

"I was going to but baby steps. You did just find out the story about your grandparents and I thought that was more than enough for one day."
