Later... Twilight POV "Mama, me dweamed weiwd dweam." "What was it about?" "I dweamed saw Papa yestewday. He looked lot like I or me looked lot like him. Hmm." She thought about it for a while. "Doesn't wemembew. But he was vewy tall like a giant." Great, now I have to tell her. "Honey, that wasn't a dream. Your papa was here yesterday just before you fell asleep." "Oh." "Do you want to see him again?" "Maybe. Can I tomowwow?" Honestly speaking, I'm disappointed with her answer. "Sure." "Can I also get little bwothew or sissew?" "Honey, I'm sorry but you can't." "Why?" "It's...well..." "Is it because you doesn't like Papa?" "What makes you say that?" "You not sad when he not here but you get sad when me ask about him and you doesn't talk about him. He don't live with us too and me don't see a wing on it." Wow. I guess this is one of the consequences of having a pup who takes after you. "Papa bad?" Well I mean, what he did was bad but it doesn't necessarily mean that he's a bad person. I think. I'm not too sure myself but I guess it depends on what your definition of what a bad person is. In the end, not everyone's a saint and as much as I'd hate to admit, he's more of a good person than a bad one. "Not really. We just don't belong together. Anyway, enough of that; you need to get your sleep." "Ok. Love you, Mama." "I love you too, you little rascal." After leaving her to sleep, I got a mind link from my dad asking me to come to the Throne Room. Here we go again. "Both our packs need a Luna and both of us don't have mates either so I think this will be beneficial to everyone." “Alright. I’ll consider it but only under the condition that my pack establishes a bilateral relation with yours. That of course means having an embassy in yours.” “Why would I agree to such terms?” “Well, I’m not forcing you to agree. All I’m saying is that I’ll only consider your proposal if you agree but if you don’t want to then that’s fine. After all, you’re not the only one who’s asked for my hand in marriage.” “Alright.” Well, that was easier than the last time but I’m not complaining. “Great. Just sign here and you can be on your way.” Surprisingly, he signed it right away. Dumbass. “I really wonder how you can sign something without reading it first. But oh well.” “What for?” “If you read the contract, you’d know that there are more conditions such as no harm of any kind coming to my ambassador, who by the way is meant to be at whatever pack meetings you have, and that breach of contract will result in forfeiting your pack to me.” As if I’d ever agree. Believe me, this isn't the first time that an Alpha or future Alpha has asked for my hand, I doubt it'll be the last either. Beneficial for everyone my ass. They only see me as a way to reach a higher position and/or a birthing machine for strong pups. I'm low-key being objectified and I highly doubt that any of them would treat Natsumi as their own because of some idiotic male logic that they might have. I used to say no but I then I thought I might as well use it to my advantage like now. And I don’t even have to say yes so it’s win-win situation for me. Afterwards... "You know; I'm really worried about you." My dad said. "In what way?" "Let me put it this way: there's still a chance for you to find yourself a nice guy to settle down with. I know it's not what you want to hear, especially from me, but I just don't want you to end up like me and at such a young age too. I'm not saying that you have to and I don't have preferences either, just think about it. So it didn't work out with your first or second mate but maybe it wasn't supposed to. What I mean by that is it could've been a way to guide you to the right one. Even though it's a pretty messed up way, I'm sure you'll find the right one. Maybe not now, maybe in a few years or maybe he'll be mate number 10. Even so, he'll make all that pain worth it because he'll be the one to make it go away and make sure that it never comes back." "Wow. I didn't expect you to have any wisdom to share." "What can I say, it comes with age." "Or you got it from the internet." "Give me some credit." "You can't blame me. The second option sounds more believable." “It’s just a thought but Alex is a respectable and virtuous young man.” “Didn’t you say that you don’t have preferences?” “It was just a thought.” “It sounds an awful lot like you’d prefer him.” “Ok fine so maybe I don’t think it’d be such a bad idea if you gave him a chance. But I’ll leave you be.”
