Two weeks later...
Twilight POV
"Twilight, be honest with me. How do things look for him?" Mitsu asked.
"Logically speaking, I’d say pretty good since he hasn’t done anything wrong as far as I know and I doubt that there'll be any problems until tomorrow."
"Oh." She breathed a sigh of relief. I get that she's worried about him but I have a feeling that it's more to it than that.
"Is there anything else you wanted ask?"
"Uhm...hypothetically speaking, what if they still don't want him here?"
"I highly doubt it'll happen so don't think about it too much.”
"Ok."
“Unless if there’s something you’re not telling me."
“No, I… I’m just worried since anything could happen.”
“And that’s all?’ I narrowed my eyes at her.
“Yeah.”
Just as I thought, she’s hiding something. I can tell from the way she bit her lip just now. But if she’s not ready to tell me then I won’t press her for details. For now, at least.
“Alright.”
The next day...
"Please, he has to stay. I'm sorry I didn't say this earlier but..."
What she said had me rushing to the Grand Hall with the same amount of madness as a headless chicken. Good thing the pack wasn't here yet.
"We can't make him leave no matter what."
"And why is that?" One of the pack elders asked.
"Because she's pregnant."
To say that Takeshi saw red would be an understatement. I even had to use Alpha command to stop him from murdering Shin but he did get a couple of hits in. As for Shin, he probably didn't even know what was going on around him because it looked like he was still processing what I just said.
"So now that a pup is on the way, he has to stay? Don't you think you're being hypocritical?" Another one asked.
"No because this is an entirely different situation. She actually wants him here."
"You let a Rogue into your pack and expected us to welcome him with open arms. Previously, we had warned you about having a human mate but you refused to see reason and look where that got you. So why should we trust your judgment this time around?"
Now it was my turn to see red. The only difference is that no-one will be able to stop me with Alpha command. The only one who bothers to try and understand my way of thinking and offer advice is Tora. The other three are a different story and these fuckers have pushed me past my limit.
"There's a limit to how much disrespect I can tolerate and you've crossed a line. I've had enough of you contradicting every decision I make and challenging my authority. You know very well that I make decisions with everyone's wellbeing in mind and if I need your opinions, I'll ask for it. I'm not always right but neither are you. You warned me of the consequences, that's true. But none of them involved this. So I ask, dare you question my judgment?"
"No, Alpha." They bared their necks in submission.
"I thought so. I only give respect where it's due and if all you're going to give me is disrespect then make no mistake, I'll return the favour tenfold. Consider this a warning, hold your tongues next time or I'll do it myself. And if you really don’t like the way I do things then please, feel free to get the hell out of my pack. You won’t be missed. But what I am going to do right now is appoint new elders. Tora, you’re staying. As for the rest, your services should’ve ended when my father stepped down. The pack elders are meant to serve as advisors not aggravators and judging from how you seem to think that only your decisions matter, it would seem that I’ve turned a blind eye to your incompetence one too many times. But not anymore so you’re relieved from your duties."
It’s about time that I replace them. I didn’t want to but they forced my hand and putting up with four years of this was too much. Now I need find suitable replacements. Great, more work for me.
Later...
"You've been gone for over an hour. How did it go?"
"Your dad almost murdered him and I had to stop him with Alpha command. Also, the pack elders got on my nerve again and this time, I was dangerously close to ripping their heads off but instead I replaced them except for Tora. And now I need to find replacements. But all in all, it went pretty well. He's staying."
"Thank you." She gave me a hug.
"What are friends for, right?"
"But did they agree on their own or did you force them?"
"On their own. If they didn't then I would've convinced them otherwise. Also, your parents want to have a word with you. You're most probably going to get the lecture of your life because, wow, they're pissed. So... good luck with that."
"Is it possible to hide somewhere?"
"They're right outside the door so no and there aren't many hiding places in here. Also, escaping through the window isn't an option in your current state so like I said, good luck. But something doesn't add up. You've only been with him for two weeks so how are you already three weeks pregnant?"
"I might have found a way to sneak into his room the first night he was here."
"Here's what's going to happen: I'm going to pretend that I never heard that and that you never said it either."
Later...
"Twilight, you got a moment?"
"Hold on for just a minute."
I finished up what I was doing.
"What's up?"
"Do you want to tell her or should I?" She asked Shin.
"Ok, I see where this is going and you're not going to do this with me. So just say it already."
"We're getting married."
"Mitsuri Kimura, have you lost your damn mind or have the pregnancy hormones started kicking in?"
