Celine's pov
After my conversation with Damien, I knew I had to speak to Kade so that he wouldn't ruin any of my plans. As soon as I was certain that I was engrossed in his works and Jessica was less interested in me, I sneaked out of the pack house.
But when I arrived at Nightwing, Kade wasn't available so I had to wait for him. I sat with my legs fully closed. Even though I wasn't relaxed, I was trying hard to appear relaxed.
“Good day!” A voice suddenly spoke from behind and as I turned, it was a maid dressed in the pack's maid uniform.
“The Alpha is not available”
“I am aware of that” I forced a smile on my face but there was a frown that etched her pretty face, like she didn't seem satisfied with my response.
“This place is where the Alpha takes on important guests, I am not sure he is going to be happy seeing you here when you return”
She spoke again, but there was disgust in her face, like she could no longer conceal how she felt about me, making me wonder if she knew me before or if there was a reason for her acting this way.
“The beta asked me to sit here and wait for him, since then beta has given such instructions, I don't think it's in your place to say otherwise”
“And I am telling you now that I work for Kade personally”
“Kade?” I called out, almost stressing the word as my eyes flicker with surprise. I had never had anyone call him out by his name but she looked so bold, almost like she had a personal relationship with him.
I couldn't stand a person like her again. I had been at the Ferralmoon pack house for years, watched the maids and omegas treat me with so much disrespect and no one ever stood up for me
Both Jessica, my father, and even the beta turned a blind eye to it, but this time, I wasn't going to be a pushover.
As I rose to my feet, I took a few steps closer to her, she instinctively drew back but kept her gaze straight at me.
“You are nothing but a mere servant and you don't dare to address the Alpha by his name or even tell me what to do”
“You are just a guest ma, don't you think that you are doing too much”
“No! Not yet, I haven't done anything yet, but if you ask much as speak a word to me again, it's is t going to be funny, you just said that I am a guest or doesn't the MIADS at Nightwing know how to treat a guest”
“Is everything alright?” A deep male voice spoke from behind. The maid and I both turned to stare at Beta Rowan standing at the door. I had no clue how long he had been standing there, but his gaze was dark.
“It's nothing Beta, I am just informing our guest that this place is meant for important guests and the Alpha might not be impressed to see her here”
“And when did you become a spokesperson for the Alpha?” Rowan asked, a deep frown had settled on his face and slowly he started walking towards her.
“Have you lost your mind?”
“No Beta, I just wanted to make sure she doesn't end up breaking anything in here”
She continued to speak but this time, she lowered her head and didn't dare to look at Rowan even though he was standing in front of her, her voice calmer.
“You are the one who is not permitted to set foot in this living room ever again. Unless the Alpha gives permission, get out of here and never step feet here!”
He yelled at her and without hesitation, she dashed out of there.
“Miss Celine, I am sorry…..”
“It's fine. The Alpha is a very handsome and powerful man, it is only normal that they might have a crush on him”
I teased. Hoping that would ease the moment, so that he wouldn't think that I was angry about it.
“That is another way to put it yet it doesn't give her the right to be rude to her future Luna”
“Future Luna? Guess I will have to learn how to get used to the name” I smiled and there was a brief smile on his face before we heard the sound of a car driving in.
“I think he has arrived” Rowan nodded his head in respect at me which I found odd before he stepped out of there.
After Kade and I were in his office alone upstairs, I knew I couldn't waste his time. He was a very busy man so I went straight to the point.
“We have to postpone the wedding” he was silent for a while After I spoke but slowly turned around to meet me
His gaze was nothing like I had expected, so calm like he had foreseen this moment.
“Is that another way of saying you want to cancel the wedding?”
“No. I still want to go ahead with the wedding, but I want to deal with my ex first”
“Your Ex, so you are admitting to the fact that you have a fiancé and you were engaged while you came here?”
I lowered my head as I bit my lower lip, this wasn't going to be an easy one, but I knew I would have to be careful with my words.
“The situation with Damien is my business which I don't want to discuss with you yet, I just hoped you could be understanding and wait until I have settled every business that I have with him”
“Since you know you weren't ready for this marriage and the contract, why did you come to me? You should have settled whatever madness you had with him first
!”
Now he was staring directly into my eyes. His gaze was dark and every word he spoke suddenly sounded venomous to me.
