Kade's pov
I had promised Celine that I would visit Ferralmoon pack tomorrow to ask for her hand in marriage but how could I even make such a promise?
Tomorrow was the full moon, and I didn't like to move around before the night of the full moon.
But she was a pure-blooded wolf, I badly needed her blood and even though I was already starting to feel my cursed side shifting, I still went ahead to prepare for the trip.
“Alpha! I can't let you leave!” Rowan stood before the car, blocking my path. The guards all looked stunned at his courage to challenge me, but he was the only one who knew exactly what was going on.
“Rowan! I am only going to say this once. STEP OUT OF MY WAY!” I growled but he remained fixed at the spot.
“Alpha! Even if you are going to go, can we at least have a word please!” There was a desperation in his eyes.
A curse that I had tried so hard to conceal from the world, never left my chamber a day before the full moon just in case the curse was triggered earlier.
But this strange girl, I had made her a promise, I didn't care the cost at which I would keep to it.
I turned around and headed back inside with Rowan trailing behind. “Alpha! It's the full moon tonight!” He stated the obvious.
“Yes. I am fully aware of that and you know I won't stay there for more than just a few hours”
I explained but he paused, there was a flicker of fear in his eyes. Rowan has never been afraid of anything, but over the years, he has grown scared of this curse and the fear of anyone finding out about it.
“There are several instances when the curse triggered on time even before the night of the full moon and even if this girl is truly a pure-blooded wolf, we still do not have any clue how her blood works, please Alpha. Let's take some time to think this through”
“We will, but that will be after I have made my intentions known to them about the marriage” I spoke with finality in my voice and yet he was not ready to give up.
“If she sees the curse on you, there will be no need for a marriage. She would flee and we might never get our hands on her blood….. please Alpha. You need to think this truth properly.”
He urged me, but my gaze remained cold with not a flicker of doubt in it. I walked towards him and patted his shoulder.
“Rowan! There has never been a time that I went back on my word, I haven't done it and I don't intend to start now.
I pulled away from him and started walking, only turning to stare at him again when I stood at the door.
“Now you can either come with me. Or you can stay back!” I gave him a choice which I was fully aware wasn't much of a choice.
As I strained out of the pack house. The guards immediately opened the car, Rowan no doubt trailing behind.
“The drive to Ferralmoon pack was just three hours and even though we shared a common boundary with them, we do not see eye to eye and there has never been a valid reason to go to war.
My reasons for hating a man like Alpha Aiden were there, as for him, he couldn't get what he wanted with me. Thus his only option was to try to take away my territories and even the title of an Alpha king away from me.
But I would be dead before something like that ever happens. The car came to an abrupt halt in front of Ferralmoon pack house.
One of the guards from his pack walked closer. Trying to scan to find out who was inside the car, as soon as his eyes met mine, I didn't even have to use my Alpha aura.
But my gaze alone was enough to get him trembling, He pulled away and turned to the rest of the men.
“Make way! It's the Alpha king!” He announced, the panic still visible in his voice.
It was clear that as soon as we parked right inside the large compound of his pack house. The news had already reached him that I was here.
Alpha Aiden stepped out but he wasn't alone, twenty of his men accompanied him whine more stood at each angle, they were on standby, probably waiting for an order.
“Alpha Kade!” He called out, walking towards me with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
“You should take a deep break Aiden, I am here for a casual visit, I see no reason why you have to assemble such a large number of men as if we were going to war”
I spoke casually, but the sarcasm was right there, he lowered his head, then signaled to a few of his men to draw back.
“I must say that this is a surprise visit, what brings you to the Ferralmoon pack?”
“That is definitely not a discussion that should be done while standing” I hinted.
“Oh! Yes…. Please come in, have a seat!” He finally urged, as he kept on caressing the side of his palm, I could hear the sound of his breath from where I stood.
Alpha Aiden was planning a treaty with Bluehills pack in a few months, and for him, my presence alone can ruin it all.
But just as I followed him to the large living room, my wolf let out a loud howl, the beast was at the corner and my wolf asusual was fighting to stay!
This was definitely a bad time to go feral!
