Kade's pov:
Ever since I was cursed, I had monitored almost everything about it. Ways to control it for a minimum time until the beast can no longer hold it.
And from the way my body was reacting, I knew that I didn't have up to three hours before the beast takes over.
I sat on one of the couches in the living room while Alpha Aiden sat opposite me. His eyes were still peaking around cautiously. As if trying to be certain that I wouldn't attack him.
“Welcome Alpha King. To what do I owe this visit?”
“I came to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage!” I blurted out straight knowing that I couldn't waste any time here.
But even though I knew how dangerous it would be for me. A part of me. Probably my wolf was anxious to see Celine, even just a glimpse of her before I leave.
Alpha Aiden's jaws dropped at my words, it was obvious he wasn't expecting that. No one would want to give their daughter away for marriage.
“Alpha…. If I heard you right. Did you just…..”
“Yes, you heard me right!” I cut him off. “I am here to seek your daughter Celine for marriage”
“Celine?” He spoke, and a flush of relief spread across his face.
“Are you so afraid to give me your biological daughter that you had to show it out?”
“That is not it Alpha. But the problem here is that Celine is already engaged to someone else”
“She is not married yet. Which means I still stand a chance”
“Alpha…..” I stared at my wrist watch and then rose to my feet. “It's her choice if she wants to marry me. Ask her and if she refuses, then I will leave”
“Very well Alpha, I will speak to her later” Alpha Aiden also rose to his feet. Trying to dismiss me as if I were a pest he needed to get rid of. But there was no way he would get rid of me that easily.
“No. Send for her and let's ask her right away, if she does want to marry me, then I will leave and never return to your house”
“Celine isn't available right now, but rest assured that I will speak to her once she returns” he spoke again but I shook my head, and judging by the sound of his heartbeat, something didn't sit right with me.
“Did something happen to her?” I asked him directly because I wanted to see the shift in his expression. Given how his eyes widened, I was right.
They had done something to her.
“What have you done to her?”
“What! How could you ask me that Alpha, she is my daughter, I raised her, I would never do anything to harm her”
“Then bring her here right away!” I commanded. Just then, a young girl with pale fair skin and long red hair stepped out from the corner of the stairs. Clearly, she had been listening to our conversation
“Pardon me Alpha king” she spoke. Bowing her head as she knelt before me. “Celine had gone to see the cartographer, we have an event coming up soon which I believe you might have heard of, but you are free to wait here”
“This is my daughter, Jessica's, she is a good sister with Celine” Aiden added but none of that mattered to me. My wolf was slowly starting to get impatient, the beast lurking behind while I struggled to fight the urge.
“Call her!”
“Alpha, she can't respond to calls right now….”
“I say CALL HER NOW!!” I roared, this time, my eyes flickered red, the beast just at the surface, one wrong move and I would go feral the next moment.
Rowan had noticed what happened and rushed to my side but Aiden and his daughter pulled back, they did not dare stay close to me with such an aura.
“Alpha! Calm down, I think we need to leave right now!” Rowan spoke. But his voice was a warning. But now that it was clear to me that something was wrong with Celine. I wouldn't dare leave.
Even if my curse is revealed to everyone.
“Take me to Celine, wherever she is, I want you to take me to her right now!” I commanded, using my Alpha voice as Jessica was trembling, but her hands and feet had become shaky.
“Yes, Alpha!” Jessica
responded, she did not dare disobey me with such an aura that was brimming around the living room.
