Celine's pov:

I knew that the last thing Father would ever want was to give me away in marriage so quickly. In my past life, that was the reason he kept on postponing my wedding to Damien.

I was of so much value to him and he couldn't let me go. But this time, it was the Alpha king and I couldn't wait to see how he would play off.

“Does something seem strange about him?” Jessica asked as we stood there watching Kade's car drive off.

Of course, he is Kade Hart, the manwho has been regarded as a monster all his life, something definitely is off.

“Celine!” Father called, his jaw tight with anger once he had seen the car was out of the pack house. “Come with me right now!”

He commanded, his teeth gritted and his fist clenched hard. He stormed out of there. I was very weak, my legs still shaky yet I followed him behind to his private chamber.

“What the hell just happened ?” He asked as soon as he slammed the door hard behind me before he flared at me. His gaze fixed on me, his eyes brimming red like his heart would explode any moment.

“I am hungry!” That was the first word that I had said even though I knew he was angry and wanted answers.

But I haven't had even water since I was reborn and the dungeon had taken a hard troll at me.

“Are you out of your mind, I just asked you a question, now go ahead and tell me why that monster suddenly walked in here asking for your hand in marriage?”

He scrunched his face, like the words he had just spoken were bitter even to his mouth.

“I have no clue father. But I do know that I have accepted his proposal and will marry him” he slammed his fist hard on the wall soon as I spoke, the veins on his neck were now visible.

“What nonsense! Do you even understand who he is and why he is regarded as a monster?”

“I don't know…. But I know he has never lost any battle since he became Alpha King, which implies he can protect me, more than you ever did”

Alpha Aiden gritted his teeth at my words, it is not every day that I dared speak back at him, matter of fact, because I have always wanted his recognition, I did not ever speak back at him.

“He killed all three of his wives and you think he wouldn't do that to you, I thought you were smarter than that!”

“I don't care” I spoke but somehow the words had sarcastically escaped my lips.

He raised his hand, about to hit me, but I was staring directly into his eyes, like my gaze would remind him of the Alpha king's threat.

“Do you really want to do that father?” I asked and his hand froze mid-air.

“I don't know what you are thinking that you are doing here, but there is no way that I am letting you marry that man, he killed all three wives and you think he would do the same to you?”

“I would gladly die in his hands than continue in this cruel life here”

“This is how you pay me for everything I have done for you, I picked you up from the slump and raised you into this fine and young woman that you are today”

“And I appreciate you for that father!” I spoke as quickly as he said his last words, which has always been his method of emotional blackmail and I wasn't ready to deal with it.

*But I can't continue being here, I want to get married and I have chosen to marry the Alpha king”

“What about Damien? You are engaged to him and your wedding is in a few months”

“Thanks to you father. Because you kept postponing the wedding, makes me wonder why?” This time I fixed my gaze on him, for a flicker I saw something that looked like fear in his eyes.

But it had vanished as quickly as it came, didn't give me the time to ascertain what was going on in his mind.

“Celine!” He called very tenderly, which was something that I hadn't experienced in a while. “I know you are afraid of saying no to the monster. But that is just all you need to tell him, tell him you are engaged and matter of fact, you will be getting married in a week and I will handle the rest”

“Oh! All of a sudden you have become so sweet and are now protecting me?” I didn't realize it when I gave out a small laugh, his anger flared and his eyes turned red.

“You are making a mockery of me. You think this is a joke!” He yelled but I remained calm. I was certain that he was so worked up because he needed me for the treaty coming up soon, the same one that would destroy my life.

“I am sorry father”

“Just go, let me think of what to do next!” He waved his hand dismissively at me. I rose to my feet but didn't leave his room immediately.

“I am hungry father!” I reminded him.

“Go to the kitchen and ask them to make you something, or better still make it yourself…. Gosh! You are a woman Celine”

He barked like a teenager filled with irritation. I finally nodded my head and stepped out of his chamber.

But even after I left his room, I stood at the door trying to regain my strength. My eyes were dizzy and I knew that if I walked too quickly, I would fall.

But I have my revenge fully drafted, I couldn't let them win, just then, I heard Father's voice ring out again.

This time it was small, almost like a whisper but despite the fact that I had

lost my wolf, my hearing was still very perfect.

“George! There is a problem….. I think we have to act tonight!” He spoke with finality in his tone.
