Kade's pov
I had barely made it halfway away from the Ferralmoon pack house when a loud growl escaped my lips. My wolf was still fighting for his stand inside of me.
But it was too late.
The beast just as usual, using the strength of the full moon had won.
My eyes turned red, my skin became hairy, my fangs were long and old, my skin had shredded not like that of a werewolf in transition, but a full monster that had gone Ferral.
“STOP THE CAR!” That was all I managed to say before I lost my sanity. Rowan came to an abrupt halt, I slammed the car and it fell sideways, the weight of the monster too much to hold the car.
The beast reached for Rowan, but he knew what would happen if the beast touched him, the beast never touched anyone and they lived to talk about it.
He gave a quick dodge as he shoved the door and flew out. Even when he was out of the car, he did not stop running until he was a few miles away from the beast.
He finally pulled a bottle from his pocket, containing a mixture of silver and wolfsbane. Without hesitation, Rowan began drawing a line with it.
The beast launched forward very quickly at him, like he knew what this was and was trying to stop him, but it was too late.
The silver portion had already begun to take effect, and the beast couldn't leave the circle that Rowan had drawn.
Over the course of time, I had been trying to find a cure to this curse. This portion was the only useful thing that I had found.
Although it didn't stop the curse. But it confined the beast to a particular position, that way we didn't have to worry about hurting anyone again.
And each time, Rowan and I were always ready. Confined me in the basement inside my room and with the help of the portion, I could never move until it was all over.
That was how we had been able to keep it a secret for years. But now we were inside the woods which was definitely an open place.
We had spent years trying to shield this secret but out of my stubbornness and my obligations to a woman I had barely known. I took such a risk coming out here.
Now everything was on the line. Everything that I had ever worked for.
Rowan stood by the side, watching, ascertaining his environment making sure no one was coming.
The beast kept struggling for hours, hungry for blood, but was restricted to a particular position, he couldn't do anything.
He continued to growl in rage with every effort to break free, but this circle was strong and capable of holding down every monster.

By dawn, I slowly opened my eyes. My entire body was sore and covered with bruises. It was no surprise and with my Alpha strength, it was definitely going to heal quickly.
I had so much more that I had to worry about than just mere bruises. I rose up and with no effort, I got out of the circle and tapped on Rowan who was sleeping next to a tree.
He quickly rose to his feet as soon as I touched him, acting on impulse. “Alpha!” He called out as he stared at me, and a flush of relief spread across his face.
“Are you alright?” He asked, tossing me a new and clean pair of shirt and pajamas since my clothes were ruined last night.
“Did she see it?” I asked, knowing that most of my memories from the time at her house had disappeared since I had spent more time fighting the beast.
“I don't think what she saw should be any problem, I have no clue why you even agreed to this marriage knowing that you could easily get her and drain her blood.”
There was irritation in his voice as he spoke, he had spent the night in his human form the entire night, his entire body was exhausted which made me wonder if that was why his words weren't making any sense.
We both began to head back to the road where our car was parked and by the time we got there, I wasn't surprised about the status of the car.
“I will make a call and ask one of the guards to bring another car” he spoke immediately, pulling out his phone to make a call.
I was very hungry and needed to eat something as quickly as possible to regain every ounce of my strength.
“The car should be here soon” Rowan assured me, but the coldness still in his eyes, clearly showed that he was trying to suppress his rage.
“I can't take her away like that”
“What?” He turned to look at me with furrowed brows.
“I am saying that I can't just take Celine and take a blood. We have known that the blood of a pure wolf was the cure and yet we don't even know the right way to use the blood”
I spoke and his eyelid lowered like he was starting to see some sense in my words.
“But there is something else Rowan….” I paused and bit my lower lip, fighting the frustration inside of me.
“When I told him I came for a marriage proposal, I saw real fear in his eyes”
“Of course that is certain! He is afraid of you”
“No! That wasn't the case, he was afraid of something and even though the girl had been treated so cruelly, he would never give her to me. I might
just be overthinking, but I think there is more to the girl than we know”
I explained, staring into a blank space.
