KADE’S POV Vance let out a throaty laughter. “Who would’ve thought a newbie would take down Ivy?” He said amidst laughter. “She’s more interesting than I thought. Honestly, our mate is so cool.” Roman grunted. “Vance, stay away from her.” He chortled. “Why?” I shifted on the seat. “Why would I want to do that?” He sipped, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Did you see the way she dragged Ivy? That was sexy as f**k!” Vance’s action tipped Roman off the cliff. He stamped his fist against the table, a low growl rumbled his chest. “That’s all you think about.” Vance’s face turned the color of a hydrant. “What on earth am I supposed to think about?” He pushed himself up, and trudged towards Roman who was already boiling with rage. “Vance Castillo, we’re sending her back. And that’s final.” Roman’s voice brooked no opposition. My wolf snickered. ‘We’re not letting our wolf out of our sight.’ We had a rule— we can’t claim any woman, even if said woman is our mate. There was no point mating a woman. Vance sneered. “Alpha Roman… brother, you’re not in the position to tell us what to do.” A nerve ticked in Roman’s jaw. I watched with a stoic expression etched on my face. How do I tell them I wasn’t going to mark our fated mate because of an entirely different reason? “Oh yes I will,” Roman countered. “You wanna know why?” A frantic beat passed. “Because, Vance you’re going to f**k things totatlly up than you’ve done already.” “I don’t see anything wrong in what I’ve done so far,” Vance said, raising his hand in mock surrender. He turned to my direction briefly, “I’m sure Kade agrees with that.” The vein at the side of my neck twitched. My wolf let out a low growl. He disagreed with Vance. If there was one thing he wanted, it was his mate. “You see! Two against one, that chic ain’t going nowhere.” Roman stood up, he was two inches taller than the rest of us. His eyes turned red, and his fangs sliced out. “Hold your horses Roman,” When Vance spoke again, his voice was firmer. “I would suggest you keep the fight for when it’s truly worth it.” I concealed the tiny smirk that blossomed at the corner of my lips. It was amusing watching them go at each other. We were triplets, but if you didn’t know any better, you’d think they were rival rogues fighting for dominance. One name. Same blood. Identical looks. Different f*****g ambition! Since we became the next heir to Moonwolf pack when we turned eighteen these two had been at loggerheads. Vance was the second, and should be head of the enforcers but he wanted the seat of the Alpha so badly. There was nothing wrong in any of us being the Alpha. However, Vance was brash, and would really mess things up around the pack. I was in the middle of the chaos. I didn’t want Scarlet to leave, her pack wasn’t safe for her. Nobody sends their child with so much welts from belt marks on their body. This college was only for a selected few. Perhaps, the moon goddess wanted her to be here in the first place. “Maybe, I’ll tell the enforcers to get rid of her.” Vance’s nose flared. “That will not happen.” “I am the Alpha.” A dry laughter sliced through the air. “I am an Alpha blood,” he paused, inhaled sharply and continued. “Head of enforcers, and next in mind to be Alpha of Moonwolf pack if the acting Alpha dies.” Laughter sliced through the air, it took me a few seconds to realize it’d come from me. Hell! I only realized that when both of them turned to face me. Roman grimaced. Vance’s eyebrows shot up. “Kade, you should consider getting rid of Roman. He’s a killjoy.” Another round of laughter rattled my chest. “Let’s cool off the tension in the club,” I reached for my phone, and made a reservation at the VIP section in an exclusive club in town. “Everything will sort itself out.” I pushed myself up and headed towards the door. I stopped a few inches from the exit. “One more thing Vance, a true Alpha blood, sticks to his words even when it’s not comfortable.” I said without turning to face them. Silence greeted my statement. I took that as the perfect answer, before I headed out. I got into my car, and drove straight to my private villa at the west wing of the pack house. The pack house was structured as a vast country home. Each of us had different private penthouses. I texted the head butler that I wasn't going to join them during dinner, before I switched off my phone. I didn’t want my mother blowing it up. It was tradition not to skip dinner, as long as we were not out of the pack on pack assignment. I stepped down from the car, stripped, and shifted into my wolf’s form. My wolf Roto was a grey Alpha wolf, towering over eight feet tall. Bulky, and downright brutal in war. Once, when rogues attacked our pack, my wolf singlehandedly tore down about fifty rogues. Let’s just say it was my wolf abilities that always gave me a bit of an edge over my brother. Albeit, it was more of a curse than an ability. I could see the future, in the most terrifying way. Roto and I kept things to ourselves. It was no use spooning tension in the pack. Only Roman listened…attentively. However, the visions these days are best to be kept to myself alone. I sprinted a few more hours, until the moon shone brilliantly in the sky. I shifted back into my human form. Then, I went to take a quick shower. I shook my head, when I put my phone back on, and it almost scalded me with notifications. Roman and Vance were already waiting for me by the time I pulled the brakes in front of the pack house. Vance reverted his car to life. “Off we go, baby!” Vance said in a deep pitch tone. We got to the club after thirty minutes of indulging in a mock car race. The second we got in, the blaring music died down. Every pair of eyes turned in our direction. Suddenly the air around us delved deeper. She was here. A knife twisted right in the chest. She was here. Even worse. working as a waitress.
