SCARLET OMEGA’S POV
Mate? Mate? Mate?
In my entire life, I didn’t know one single word was capable of sending chills rippling through my spine. Maybe I didn’t pick out the words well.
I shifted my gaze, and caught sight of Lina pacing the length of the room, her hands trembling.
“Lina, I’m the one who cussed them out in front of the crowd, not you,” I slipped out of the tight heels, my entire body still buzzed with electricity from my encounter with the Castillos. “Get your act together.”
Lina slapped her forehead. “You don’t get it do you?” She paused, and added. “Scarlet, the Castillo triplets called you mate. I heard it, pretty sure the entire school heard it too.”
My stomach lurched.
My lips parted into a wry smile. It’s not something I’ve not been through. “Lina, we barely just met. Don’t give yourself a headache because of me. I’ll be fine.” I said, switching conversations.
She let out a litany of cuss words, I was too tired to think about.
Yes, for goddess sake! I knew I was in trouble right on my first day at college. Maybe my father was right all along. Perhaps, I was a curse, a defect that should never have lived.
There was no f*****g way in hell I was mated to the Castillo triplets. I was Liam’s mate, and Elena stole him from me with an enchanted ruby.
Plus, I didn’t feel anything except the constant tingling between my legs, as their scent wafted into my nose.
Bile rose to my throat.
Perhaps, they might kill me or throw me into their infamous dungeon. “Don’t you get it Scarlet? Perfect face, and physique aside…” gee you’ve trailed off, she was almost drooling over them.
Hell yeah!
Irritation tugged at my skin as I flashed back to how the ladies in the hall swooned over them. Yes, they had the magnetic pool capable of making any lady wet.
Even my s*x tingled at the sight of them…they were sizzling hot. However, that didn’t give them the audacity to ask me to leave Moonwolf college.
They were the heirs of the largest pack around the north province. Their family has the highest shares in this college.
Albeit, Alpha Diaz got me into Moonwolf. I swear on my life, not even those three disasters could pull me out of here. Not until I figure out how I was going to survive through college, and after school.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a hand on my shoulders. “Are you okay?”
I nodded. “Yes. I just want to be alone.” My answer came out faintly.
Lina stared at me, concern etched on her face. “My room is opposite yours. Just knock anytime you need me.”
I smiled my thanks. The instant the door slammed shut, memories of the event replayed in my head.
I couldn’t get over the electric shock that crashed through me the instant they walked in. One was a disaster, three? That was an impending tornado waiting to consume me.
Maybe it was their guts, or their perfectly distinct attitude. Or the way Alpha vibes rippled through their pores. It sucked up everything else in the hall.
I bet the Castillos had absolutely nothing…nothing at all to worry about. Hence, they use their minions to taunt their victims.
Those jerks were responsible for hanging me on a freaking basketball pole. I knew they wouldn’t let me off easily. And that nonsense about being their mate, was a facade to get me to fall for them.
I’d given my all to a man who rejected me for my twin sister. I wasn’t about to be another pawn in a game of chess.

My first class in college was exactly how I’d imagined it to be— intense, and weird.
I tried as much as I could to concentrate on my sketch board, whilst playing deaf to the sidetalks. I was in trouble, I was only about to find out how much?
The second the professor left the class, Lina darted towards me. “Scarlet guess what?”
I carefully kept my sketch board aside, and stared at her with lazy eyes. “Tell me.”
I’ve barely known her for three days, Lina seemed cool. And so far the only person who liked me, or at least tolerated me aside from my family’s cat.
She gave me a small card, grinning from ear to ear. “Look at this?”
One brief glance, and I looked away. “Lina, I didn’t get into Moonwolf academy to attend raves and parties.”
Lina rolled her eyes. “Don’t be such a killjoy.”
I let out a sigh. “You don’t understand.”
“Yes, I do not understand because you don’t want to tell me anything.”
“Let’s not start over again.”
“Scarlet, you’re my friend. Let me in.” Her voice sounded reassuring. “If you want me to do anything for you, I’m always here.”
My lips parted and I was about to speak, when Ivy and her minions strutted towards us, swaying their hips.
Lina’s chest rumbled with a low vicious growl. I swear I could feel her wolf fighting to get to the surface.
“I want to have a word with you Scarlet,” she folded her hands over her chest, and stared at Lina who didn’t do as much as budge.
“What?” Lina quipped. “Do not think I’m going to leave you with her.”
“Hmm. Defending your new friend huh?” Ivy mocked. “Get out.”
Lina pushed herself up, her eyes shone bright green with wolf. “You wouldn’t dare!” She gritted through clenched teeth.
“Taking her side wouldn’t stop me from pulling each follicle of her hair.”
Lina cracked her hands. The class had gone silent, I could feel almost a thousand eyes staring at us.
“I’ll make sure to break your nose beyond repair so the Castillo heirs would dump a w***e like you.” Lina said pointedly.
Ivy’s face turned red, as if she was about to explode.
“Today’s your lucky day, newbie. I’ll meet you at the quadrangle.”
