“No Scarlet you did not.” Lina said as she strutted into the class.
I let out a sigh. “Lina, I had no choice. I’m not going back to the club.”
She stopped in her tracks, and turned to face me. “Why? That’s literally the only place we got a good job for you.”
My shoulders slouched. “Bobby hit me, and you said I should go back to a club I’m treated as a common commodity?” My voice sounded exasperated.
Lina placed a hand on my shoulders. “Girl, I understand. Okay, fine. You can stop going to the club,” she paused. “I’m sure we’ll figure it out.”
My eyebrows shoot up. “We?”
Lina grimaced. “Don’t think I’m going to let you apply for a job in Moonwolf without me.”
