Max demands Adam’s mom’s attention, and she bends down to give him a back rub. “Hello, little man,” she says. “I heard you’re going to be staying with me for a little while.” “Just until our schedules settle down,” Adam says. “We’re so busy with school and stuff right now, and I hate to leave him in the apartment alone for so many hours.” That’s a lie, of course.
