chapter 7

Theo arrived at his office and his eyes fell on the empty desk of Eva.. Theodore looked around and didn't saw her.. he thought maybe she's late..so he didn't bother that much.. he walked into his own office room and focused on his work just like the usual day..

At 12, when he came out he saw the desk of Eva empty and ge frowned. She didn't call or informed him that she'll be absent. If she had any problems then she should've informed him at least. It's not like he won't understand and be angry with her. She's just like his sister and he had a good relationship with her from the beginning as well. So he got a bit worried..

He went back to his own desk and took out his phone and called Eva..

He waited until the call was answered.

I received the call because it won't be good if he had some emergency work with mom.

I tried my best not to stutter.

"Hello, Eva" his deep voice came from the other side and i took a deep breath before started speaking

"Mr. Spencer, it's me, june.." i managed not to stutter..

"Oh, june.. hi kiddo" i closed my eyes.. damn this kiddo word

"Where's eva?" He asked

"Mom is not well..and that's why she couldn't go to the office" i said

"Oh, what happened to your mom? Is it serious? Are you in the hospital?"

"No..no.. Mr. Spencer.. it's not that serious. She just got a fever and was feeling really weak so she decided not to go to the office" i said "and we are not in the hospital" i added

"Is andrew with you?" He asked

"No.. he's out of town for work. Mom asked me not to disturb him. So i didn't call her" i said

"Mom is asking if it's something emergency in the office or not?"

"No it's fine.. she was just absent so i thought to check up on her.. are you okay? Do you need anything now? Have you called a doctor?"

"Yes, Mr. Spencer..i did and he gave medicine for mom" i said as i continued to walk out of her room so that she can rest well..

"That's good.. tell me if you need anything okay? Since Andrew is not home so if you need anything you can ask me without any hesitation" he said and i smiled..

He and anna was really close to my mom from the beginning.. mom and anna are the same age.. i remember mom and anna talking how theo has always treated both of them equally.. mom used to tutor him in early days and from that day he became really close to mom..

"Thank you, Mr. Spencer.. but for now i don't think I'll be needing anything" i said as i was taking out some bowl in the kitchen but it slipped down and fell on the ground making a sound. I'm terrible at cooking..

"What happened?june..are you okay?" He asked.. s**t this is embarrassing..

"I'm fine.. actually i was in the kitchen trying to make something for lunch.. but i don't know how to cook .. so i was just trying to get something when the bowl slipped down and fell on the ground" i said

"You don't know how to cook?" He asked and i sighed defeatedly

"Nope.. I don't know how to cook" i said

"Just take care of your mom.. I'll do something.." he said and i frowned..what does he mean by that?

"No..no.. thanks but it's okay..i can manage " i said

"Don't worry.. just relax and be by your mom's side.. leave the kitchen for now" he said

"Okay " i said because his tobe just sounded like i shouldn't argue more.. ao i accepted what he said .. and he hung up the call and i walked back to mom's room.. she had fallen asleep when i walked in.. so i just sat next to her head..

Changing the small towel from her forehead and damping it into the water and placing it back on its place.. as i waited for theo as he said he would do something.. but what?
