I shot up from my sleeping position, when I realized it was just another nightmare. I shook my head, sighing when I turned to look at Wayne’s sleeping form, and realized he was facing me. He looked worried. I guess I must have woken him up.
“Are you okay?” He asked, his voice husky from just being woken up from sleeping. I have to admit it sounded superb, I would never tell him that though.
“I’m fine, just another nightmare I suppose.” I looked away, feeling him shift closer.
“I’m sorry to hear that. I wish there was something I could do to help.” He stated. Did he forget what he did, or is he just trying to make amends?
“Look, you don’t have to pretend to care. Why don’t you go back to Lilly? I am sure she misses you.” I said, trying to get a reaction out of him.
