Maddie looked at him perplexed, no matter how hard she tried to figure him out, he never made any sense.
Would it be so far fetched that she might not want to see the man who traded her away, his own flesh and blood, as if she was a piece of property?
Maddie had to cool her own temper now, she couldn’t get him upset if she was gonna get him to give her a separate room, so in the sweetest voice she could muster, she answered “of course, let’s do that”
Richard features turned indifferent again, as he nodded “good girl” before focusing on his plate once again.
After dinner Jason and Alison, said their goodbyes, and as they left the driveway with Maddie and Richard waving at them, it hit her for the very first time, Maddie lived here now.. with him.
