CHAPTER TWO

Episode two

Arriving at the university I and lovelyn went to student affairs to clear our hostel as my mother went to see her friend who worked at the school bank. We saw a lot of people there too that we were confused which office to enter. Then I saw my mother coming towards our direction with her friend, We greeted the woman as she entered into the dean's office to meet her brother-in-law. After some time we were allowed to enter into the office to see the man, on entering I saw other students there also, some were my course mate.

Before that we had gone to see the hostel the school gave me online. The school environment was still dry as much students has not resumed. On reaching hostel f which is the girls hostel we all entered, of course lovelyn was also given the same hostel as mine but different rooms. We surveyed the hostel and our rooms and we didn't like it, we saw some girls probably those who resumed early.

Without prior information, my father entered the hostel singing to himself, this made the girls angry as some of them were half naked. He apologized and left, I didn't blame him because he didn't know the school rules but some of the girls took the matter too serious and were uttering rubbish that I felt like slapping them so hard on the face. Stupid people.

Entering the dean's office, we filled forms and the rest, then the secretary asked us to go and survey the hostel of our choice and pick the room we wished to stay in. We hurried out of the office and took a bike to hostel I which was our dream hostel. On reaching there we met the hostel matrons: A man and a woman, the woman was being hostile and mean to us, she refused to answer our questions. we asked questions like which room was the best in the hostel, hahaha so hilarious. The man said they can't show us around but he pointed the room he thought was the best and we left.

Reaching the dean's office, we met the secretary and disclose the room we want in hostel I, she signed on some papers and gave it back to us to give the hostel matrons. we hurried back to hostel I to give the forms to them as my parents were getting ready to go back home. After that these matrons refuse to clear us meaning we were not allowed to enter the hostel yet on the ground that school has not resumed fully and hostel not yet open. we went back to my parents and told them and we all decided to stay at aunty blessing's lodge untill school resumes fully.

Remember, the "Aunty's lodge".After telling her about who fetched the water and who didn't fetched the water, I felt bad. The matter escalated when I told lovelyn about aunty blessing's complaint and she chatted her via w******p trying to cover up for the both of us. My bad, I didn't tell you guys that aunty blessing told me to tell lovelyn not to set her feet in her lodge again and I guessed she told lovelyn. lovelyn was crying and I was called by her aunt to come upstairs, she asked me of my own side of the story, she listened to everything I said and admonished me saying" So you couldn't cover up for her, don't you know some people has one or two domestic duties they don't like doing but it doesn't mean they won't do it, go but all I know is that when one door closes another door opens" she said looking at lovelyn who was at one corner crying and said to her " stop crying, wipe your tears". I left quietly to my room and cried, later that day as I was scrolling through my mother's phone and saw lovelyn w******p status where she posted about being backstabbed, I knew she was indirectly calling me a backstabber , then picking my phone to view her status on my own phone I saw she actually blocked me from seeing that post, I was really pained.The next day, when I saw her, I told her I was sorry and chipped in the word she used on me, "am sorry, I Knew I backstabbed you, am sorry" saying these words she froze, got herself back and nodded her head.

Arriving at the aunt's lodge, my parents helped us to take in our heavy luggages inside the room. They left after seeing that we were comfortable. We stay in the aunt's house for a week before going back to see if the hostel has being opened. Finally we were allowed to go inside the hostel after being cleared by showing them your shitting bucket, we were given a bed and bed cover, lovelyn was given a pillow but I didn't take one because my mother already gave me one. Entering into the hostel, there were just few girls around, we carried our luggages upstairs. We were both given room 23 and it was upstairs, opening the door with the key the matrons gave us, we went inside. Inside there were two bunk beds opposite each other, two reading table and one reading chair.

We started arranging out stuffs, cleaning and sweeping, dressing our beds and so on. A girl from the other wing came to see us and asked if we were freshmen and we said yes, after saying welcome to the university she left. The two other people who are meant to be our roommates are not yet back which means it was just the two of us. The was hostel was very dry, just few people were around and the hostel matrons don't sleep in their rooms, they go home to their various houses after work. It was looking scary at night as you won't hear any voice or movement, so, I and lovelyn locked out room door and slept off.

During the week, Students were returning massively but lectures has started yet, so I and lovelyn went to medicals to do our medical clearance, the doctor in charge took our blood samples, directed us to optometry building to run and eye check-up which we were to do the next day, we also did x_ray scan in the hospital.

The next day, we went to the optometry building for eye check-up and we found out that it was optometry students in their final level that will do the test for us. After the test, we took the test results to the doctor who then directed us to the office were we will comply all the results and keep them as files.
