Victoria didn't go home right after work. The day had been too tiring, too much drama, and she needed an escape.
How could she not? All day, she had played hide and seek with Felix. Every time she heard footsteps in the hallway, she immediately ducked. Whenever someone knocked on her door, she looked out the window before opening it. Even the e-mails Felix sent her were ignored. Ultimately, she made it through the day without seeing him until she went home.
Victoria had arranged to meet Leona and Tessa at the cafe, but Leona couldn't.
As soon as she arrived at the café, Victoria saw Tessa already sitting at a corner table with two cups of coffee in front of her.
"I knew you'd need these," Tessa said as she pushed one of the cups toward Victoria.
"Thank you, yes. You're my savior."
