August entry 1

Well it’s my first day in my own lab! I can’t even begin to say how happy I am to be picked for the new government project. I have been picked to try and DNA splice from some of the worlds biggest wolfs. The point is to try and make a wolf breed that can be used for mostly defense. There is going to be another step after I have completed a splice but I’m not part of the incubation team. Today is/was a get use to my lab and make sure it is set up enough for me to work. One wall is just 7 large cages with a door to another room. I have no idea what’s on that side just that I’ll be sharing wolfs with another department. Sadly funding can only go so far. My mother’s boss and my father both had to sign off on this for me to be able to do this. It is so nice to get out of a group lab where everyone says I’m only here out of nepotism but really I am just a product of my environment. Not my fault a single parent of theirs of either have science backgrounds and are good at their job. Tomorrow I get to meet the wolves. I normally worked with lab rats so this will be interesting. Turns out 3 guards will be rotating to keep watch while I work to make sure I am safe. I will have a “helper” but she is mostly to finalize my reports and talk to the benefactor for me as well as organize anything that I might need.
