10 Meredith : 1st Night - 3 Suddenly, the craft swoops overhead and turns sharply, making for a well-lit area to our right. They’re landing. All my hopes that they would pick us up with thermal imaging fly out the window. No hope of that with the concrete overpass shielding us. Mbuga gets out of the car and goes round to talk to Johnson. They mutter together. I can’t hear much of what they’re saying, but they’ve decided to leave. Taking advantage of the helicopter being on the ground, I guess. Mbuga settles in the back again and we zoom back onto the national road. We see and hear no more of the helicopter. The droning of the car engine, quiet as it is, sends me to sleep again.
