With his shadow extending like a black wave over the ground, the Eclipse King stood tall. His crimson eyes shone with strength and, even more horrifying, determination.
With her head lowered Seraphina fell to her knees in front of him.
"My King," she said in a whisper. "I've fulfilled all of your requests. Your power has returned, the Blood Moon has risen, and you now have control over the wolves.
I balled my fists up. So this was always her plan.
I clenched my teeth and said, "You never wanted to rule." "You wanted to serve him only."
Smirking, Seraphina raised her eyes. "Obviously. A god is nothing like a mere queen.
I was studied by the Eclipse King. "But a Queen is just what I need," he remarked in a silky, menacing voice.
A chill of fear took hold of my chest.
