I couldn’t blink or look away… probably because it took a while for my brain to register what I was seeing—or maybe it was the way he was holding my gaze—daring, challenging, with a hint of something far darker burning quietly beneath it all.
I suddenly spun around. “I… I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to—I’ll leave.” I barely took a step before I felt my body yanked back into the bathroom, the door slamming shut behind me as my spine met it hard, breath catching from the sudden force.
