LEILA’S POV
An unsettling feeling rose deep within me as I watched Lady Diane walk away. There was something in her demeanor that didn’t feel right to me at all.
“What are you doing?” Winnie asked softly, nudging my elbow. “Come on now, we have to go.”
“Ah, yes,” I answered, turning to the guard at the entrance. “Alpha Alaric already gave me permission to come here whenever I want. You can check with him if you don’t believe me,” I added.
“No need for that. You can go in now,” the guard said, and my brows furrowed in confusion.
