LEILA’S POV
My body froze at the sight of the beautiful moon in the sky. Was it time already? Why did it feel like yesterday that the moon was last full?
My head dropped back on the bed, gaze fixed on my mate as his jaw was drawn taut with tension, eyes clenched shut, and chest rising and falling asleep as he panted.
When he finally moved, he almost flew out of bed. “I need to leave… I need to…” He trailed off, shaking his head as if trying to dispel bad thoughts that were no doubt already clouding his mind.
