ALARIC’S POV
The situation was already under control, but I lost it the minute the doctor appeared. My blood pulsed with fury, and I reached for him. My wolf slipped in at that moment, a very dangerous slip-up that could have killed everyone in that room.
You don't have a beast like mine and unknowingly lose control. How and why it happened, I didn’t know. All I knew was that I was choking the doctor one second, and the next, my mate was staring up at me with a fear that made her so pale I thought she'd pass out.
My hands lowered, and the doctor dropped to the floor like a sack of bones, clutching his neck and coughing loudly. But I ignored him and moved closer to Leila… But she scooted back in fear, her head shaking as she leaned further into the bed with her arms.
